the sports package is 3 grand more and most on here will tell you its worth every dime. the brakes will throw you thru the windshield. as good as brembo.
even though they say nissan.

I bought it used and the guy I bought it from had no idea or did not want to say because he took the better calipers off, who knows...it was an "as-is" deal and I didn't know any better. I now know for sure the current brakes are not the upgraded ones, at this point all there is left to verify is if I have the LSD or not. Is there an easy way to tell?
Thanks

It's possible he upgraded the sport brakes to something more beefy and sold the OEMs for some cash. Then he bought some baby brakes to put on it to sell it.

Why didn't he sell the wheels.?

How about a VIN search?

I assume getting under the car but not sure how to tell the difference between the stock differential and the LSD.
Thanks for the help!
It might be easier to light up the tires

Yup, find a good stretch of road and launch it. If it leaves 1 tire mark you have a base, if it leaves two tire marks you have the sport.

The LSD and syncrorev features are the only few things that can not be easily seen. All the other sports package items can be easily added to a base and disguised as a sport package trim.

Couldn't he just call up any nissan dealer, give them the VIN # and let them know what package he has? But yeah LSD is another way to check.

To determine if you have the Sport package, check the tire sticker in the driver's door jamb. (see attached pic).

This sticker tells you what tires your car was equipped with when it left the factory.
Here in the USA, the only way to get 19" wheels/tires from the factory on a 370z is to order the Sport package.

So:
If this sticker lists 19" front/rear tires (as in "275/35R19"), you've got a Sport package car with the limited slip differential.
If it lists 18" tires front/rear, you do NOT have the Sport package, and do NOT have a factory limited slip rear axle.

Really darn clever. Must better than when I was helping a friend shop for MR2 Turbos to find which VIN # comes stock with turbo AND LSD.

Good news! The door sticker says it came with 19s and for the heck of it...my car leaves two tire marks =D Thanks for the advice!
So I just need to upgrade to the bigger Nissan brakes and the car is back to a Sport again.

I still am so curious why someone in their right mind would downgrade sport brakes to whatever was on there.

Maybe he wasn't tracking it and wanted some money.

Are all rays on a Z 19" or do some Z's actually have 18" rays?
