Some Z guys don't respect other Z guys

I feel like I get more props from people in other modded whips than people in our Z's. People in the 240-280s, and z32's are cool, but more than half the time when another z33 or z34 roles up next to me, or roles by me going the opposite direction, I'll throw up a peace sign or heads up and they just straight up look and turn away with a straight face or not even look in my direction (run-on sentence much?). I think it's just.. wtf?
My boy that rides tells me bikers always acknowledge each other on the road and that cool. Too bad there isn't more Z guys like that.
<End Rant>

I'm with you man, there are not many Z's up here, and the z32, guys are decent, but the z33 guys are like... douchalicious... they look at me and my NISMO like im some elitist prick. and im the one who waves first.. lol

Econ 07-20-2011 09:33 AM

yea 350 guys seem pretty jealous or something.

i usually just skip the waving and flip them off..... ;)

myaeger18 07-20-2011 09:35 AM

In my area (Cleveland, OH), the Z's here seems to respect each other. A quick wave or peace sign and you get one in return.

I agree with the other cars as well. I get props from Evo's and Subbies all the time.

Good plan. Something about the 350 guys....

BTW, I get more nods, etc., in my 240 than my 370, by far.

BeachZTT 07-20-2011 09:46 AM

Haha, I started a tread just like this about a year ago... I concur. :) I drive a Z32 and a Z34 Roadster and always throw my Z brothers and sisters a little love. More and more people are scooping up used Z33s that couldn't care less about Zdom/heritage. I am not for a minute saying that there aren't Z33 enthusiast because I know plenty. It's all good. I will continue to try to bring them to the light. :happydance:

hansoac 07-20-2011 09:49 AM

There is another post that veered into this discussion..something along the lines of coming up with a signature Z owners wave. On there people complained about the same thing..no respect. I think age group has alot to do with it. I will get a wave from a middle aged guy in a Z..but the ones who are 19 and pay the $10,000 for the 350z with 100+k miles on it..tend to exhibit exquisite douche-baggary.

Cmike2780 07-20-2011 09:50 AM

350 guys never nod back. Then again, a lot of 350 drivers tend to be middle aged women or Jersey Shore type individuals. Not all, but I've seen this a lot. For me anyways, 370 drivers usually wave back, flash their headlights, etc... I think its because there are far fewer 370 drivers and most who buy them are enthusiast. It's kind of like comparing this forum to the 350 forum. Just a slightly different demographic, but it makes a world of a difference.

unfortunatley the 350 demographic will begin to leak into the 370 demographic as the price of used 09's becomes more affordable to a larger group of people.

sucks.

b1adesofcha0s 07-20-2011 09:54 AM

I try to wave when I can, but every time I see one on the road, I can never seem to get up next to it. That it the Windows are tinted so damn dark I can't even see the other driver :rofl2:

That's the sign that I need to move on from the Z and get something better :icon17:

onzedge 07-20-2011 09:59 AM

There is nothing worse than a Z driver who bought the car because it was "cute", "kicky" or "adorable".

Shoot me now.

I agree with you on the not many of us 370z owners being around. For myself I am probably the only owner in a 50 mile radius. I rarely see another 370z. Most 350's that are around I do the wave and or flash the headlights but only the ones I pass on the regular will do it back others just keep driving. Just a shame b/c well all I want to do is chat about the Z. I saw a guy who had a 350 and I decided to follow him since he was pulling into my sisters store, we get on a side road and he guns it, well its only a 45 and he turned into the parking lot anyway. So I pull up next to him it was in good shape had some nice rims on it and I said hey man nice car I really like your rims you have any engine work done? Response was a weird face and a huh? He went into my sister's store so I followed b/c I was going to talk to her anyway and we were the only ones in the store and my sister says what's up and I responded in a voice loud enough to hear me,"Apparently people can't take compliments anymore and just b/c they can stop on the gas they assume they are bad ***" Story get's worse but I don't want to jack the thread. Anyways yes I agree where is the love?:ughdance:

I know what you guys mean, but all in all, i don't see why this should really even bother you guys that they don't talk about cars or acknowledge another z.

there's just too many 350Z's out and driven by normal folks. to them it's like me driving my HondaFit to the super market and someone in another Fit gives me a thumbs up. i'll be like huh? and probably like 10min later i'll figure out he was  at my car. lol :rofl2:

i dont wave to 350z folks at all actually... unless it was modded and we see each other. i dont think i'd wave to another 370Z owner too unless it was modded. :icon14:

I could say that 350Z guys know that their car is not as good as an older 300ZX tt, yet alone our 370's, but I don't think insulting these rude pole smokers :stirthepot: is the way to go. Many families have a sub-par member, and the Z family does too in the way of the Z33.

At least they are not Z-31's. I thought the z was forever doomed when I say my first one back in '83.

red6spd 07-20-2011 11:11 AM

This has been covered several times before. I almost never get a wave or complement from 350 guys (dont see many older Z's in my area) I almost always wave at the 350 guys, and I usally end up looking like a dork waving at no one or I get the cold shoulder. But while sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings one night with my girl a waiter noticed my Z hat I was wearing and started showing me millions of pictures of his 350 on his cell phone, it was pretty cool.

geosZ 07-20-2011 11:16 AM

I agree with the 350z guys. They hate us for having a newer model z or something. I wave and I get no redponse. Well at least at our weekly meet the 350 guys r very very cool peeps.

This is true. But when ever Nissan gets a newer better model I will still wave at the guys with the "better" car ehh whatever

( Click to show/hide )
I will wave cause the second a new Z comes out I will trade up for it

( Click to show/hide )
I'm kidding I love my Z and will never give it up

( Click to show/hide )
Yes I will dont tell her that LOL!!!

I'm with you........75% of the owners could give a crap about the history of the Z etc, thats just reality. Also Wdkwang said not only Z33 but Z34 owners as well are ignoring him so we can't just say its Z33 owner etc etc..........:eekdance:

LOL no the fight didn't get physical and the only reason I will continue this story is b/c the OP said it was cool.

Well my sister looks at me and her eyes get big and she whisper's he's "looking at you":hello: I continue my normal business of asking her how she is doing well she is not responding to me b/c this guy is walking towards me and says "Hey man are you talking about me?" I look around the store...:ugh2: Well seeing how it is only you, me and my sister I guess so, wow you do have a good observation of your surroundings great job!! Now just a side note, here is this young, pumped up U.S. Marine ready to break his foot off in my *** if I keep it up. Myself meh I am nothing special just a dude with a mohawk on vacation from the sandbox and unknowingly to him a former Marine Veteran. Now back on track, Marine: Hey man what the hell is your problem? Me: I don't really have an issue I just asked you about your ride well b/c I am actually thinking about starting a Z club in this area and just wanted to spread the word. Marine:Why would anyone want to be in a club with a douchebag like you?:bowrofl:Me: I expected more tact coming from a man who is serving in "My Marine Corps"<<can't really explain this unless you have been in but a way of expressing ownership of the Corps as being your own during time of service. Marine::wtf2: Me: I understand that not all Marine's are created equal but how about carrying yourself with some ******* pride b/c that high and tight you are wearing is screaming jarhead and you are constantly in the eye of the public and with that said I would hope you think before you speak to a total stranger who might end up putting your **** in the dirt just b/c you wanted to be big bad Marine. Sister: chimes in :gtfo2: I say Roger that get in my car and drive away. Sister calls me later and said guy just stood there pissed off and asked her if she knew me and she said um yes that's my older brother. If you hadn't guessed it he is a former Marine. Marine:well he must have been a pussy if he got out. Sister:No he got out in 05 and did a tour in 03 when the war first started and now he is a DOD security contractor. In fact he goes back in a few days so while your here playing that video game your holding in your hand he's probably playing call of duty for real with no respawn. So while your pretending to play a big bad Marine on your tv he is still being one. Marine:Put's game back and walks out LOL. Sorry for such the long story guys.

It's funny, I am still in the locating/purchase mode of a 370Z and I throw respect to any Z owner I come across... Jville, NC has way too many Z's owned by people who don't respect the heritage though. I hear all the time "it's just a car" or "I liked the look so I bough it". Pretty sad.
