As an "outsider" who has been looking at both Z33 and Z34's for my next car, I've noticed that the 350z forums/users have very negative opinions about the 370z. I can't say I've witnessed that in person, but it's certainly a strong presence on the internet.

There is one guy at work who has a 370z (and no 350's). He parks in roughly the same spot every day. When I get my Z I'm planning on parking next to him whenever possible and hopefully he'll be friendly.

This is easily explained. It's like the guy who acts all tough and puts down his team mates simply because he has seen them naked in the locker room and he, himself, feels some deep inadequacy because of this.

These feelings of inadequacy and of being “less than” are deeply rooted in his subconscious and, try as he may, it is impossible to sublimate them completely. These feelings cannot help but bubble up into conscious thought and to counteract them, he employs these put-downs as a defense mechanism to protect his ego and self-esteem.

350 guys who spend their time bashing 370 guys suffer from this same syndrome – let’s call it "370 Envy" -- and its mechanism exactly like my previously described pathology.

So, please, dont' taunt these folks or put them down. They need help -- professional help. Reach out to one of these 350-centrics and recommend counseling or perhaps a short hospital stay.

Just my opinion.

Of course they're gonna be bias, they don't want to feel inferior. I have nothing against the 350. In fact, I don't think anyone here is views the 350 in the negative. It's the owners. I hate to say it, but a lot of them are just jealous for some reason. They will not likely tell you up front. They usually say "I not a fan of the boomerang headlights" or some sort of quip. Offer them an straight up trade for a 370 and I gaurantee 99.99% of them would take it.

If someone were to offer me a straight up trade with a car that is worth more than mine, I would do it too :p

I'd trade mine for a Cayman S with PDK, as long as it was still under warranty :icon17:

That's actually all over the site, not just the northeast section.

I wish the Z community was more like the Subie guys, they always give a point and shout out when seeing another subie on the road.

b1adesofcha0s 07-21-2011 01:38 PM

I like how you drive Econ :bowrofl:

It seems to me that the Subie, Lancer & Evo guys always try to race whenever they spot other sports cars. I hate to generalize but that's the broad consensus with those guys.

Econ 07-21-2011 02:08 PM

so you must race them!!!!!!!!

.on a track of course

I don't try to race you Bert... But then again, your nismo scares me.

birdmanx1 07-21-2011 02:13 PM

Of course I would race them down and dirty and let them eat the Z dust.

on a track of course :p

:icon17: Your resilience and courage scare me Dan, which is exactly why I never try fighting you in the first place. I know how that ended up with those punks during our cruise with you.

I can't find any guys with a 370z in my area that are under the age of 50 lol
Not that there is anything wrong with that, but not too much in common to talk about.

Meh, I'm 26 and I had a harder time talking to people around or younger than my age.

What are you talking about dude? Women stories are always cross-generations and will definitely get you started with the conversation part. You might even learn some new tricks form the experienced ones :p

red6spd 07-21-2011 08:30 PM

I think I might have to take back my statement before. Just got back for a little drive with the Z and I got two waves from 350 owners. THEY WAVED FIRST!!!! LOL. Cant believe it.
