Personally, after hearing horror stories about GTR insurance/maintenance/repair costs and the fact that its a dime a dozen from where i come from, i would have chosen a Z anyway...

However, am sure it would be fun to just drive the GTR for a week or two, just to experience Nissan's finest...
If the 370Z and the GT-R were the same price I would have saved a lot of money and skipped over the Z06 and gone with a GT-R for half the price. No-brainer. So yeah.

The GTR records oil and gearbox temps and can see if there has been any messing with the ECU or Cobb presence. The car has to have a post inspection if you track it and depending on where your temps hit, an oil change. It's the main gripe as our Porsche "friends" dont have any of this nonsense or expense!

This is for UK cars but assume it applies elsewhere.

GT-R all the way. I will be looking for a low mileage 2012 GT-R in about 4-5 years when my Z is paid off.

Wait, Nissan is trying to help the owners by doing safety inspection on the car and prevent future problems? Sorry, it just sounds like you are trying to complain about the car for no reason other than Nissan being protective.
Honestly, you should be doing this anyways if you track your car. Maybe not every single event but regularly depending on how often you are at the track.

I'd be more worried about the dealership detecting the presence of Cobb tuning and using that to void your warranty.

Again, I've not driven either car to know how true it is, but that's a criticism I've seen lodged against the car since it came out.
Actually that's a good thing. Given that driving ability does not increase with wealth, the GTR computers protect those rich 50 year olds experiencing their midlife crisis. Just look at how many porsches, ferraris, and lamborghinis end up wrapped around a lightpole or tree or upside down in a ditch somewhere.

Yeah none of those old rich guys can drive and you never see younger guys wrapping their cars or ending up in a ditch.

Trust me, it's nothing to do with helping anyone other than themselves to a nice bit of labour charges. It's not free and it's all part of the warranty scam!

I reckon I know whether i need new tyres, pads, discs or tranny oil! You're right I should be doing it......not someone from Nissan for a fee!

You chaps have a much better legal system all round when it comes to cars. Here in the UK it's a battle. We've had Nissan only supplying Dunlops to dealers for them to charge over £500 yes pounds a tyre! All good fun! Still a cracking car and it's going to be a real wrench to let her go in Sept.

I'm sure the 370 will be fun.....and a better track option if only for the tyres!

I can't tell you how many girls have either come up to my car or shouted from a distance that they loved my car, thought it was cute, wondered how fast it was, or wanted a ride. I love everything about this damn car. And I put in my new radio today and its just damn near perfect for a stock NISMO.
