maunal trans, AUDI R8 V10 and look as good as your ride is fast... I also would not give up my 370 for a GTR even if the price were the same.

Not being GT-R specific, but I would love to have an R33 or R34 GT-R. It's smaller, has a silky smooth i6 turbo, 6-speed, but is RHD. The R34 Z-Tune is my dream, but way out of my league (actually all GT-Rs are ):

I would probably get the R35 if I was involved in a situation where I'm unable to row my own gears... hope not.

fasr as i know, lots of wealthy people bought one just for "fun" but sold it off in a while, trading it in for a porsche or ferrari..

main reason - doesnt feel like driving a supercar.. even though specs are supercar-like...

I beg to differ. When I lived in Atlanta, I'd see more than 5 a week. 5 being a minimum off week. The GTR to 370 ratio is getting closer to 1:1. It's about 1:2 right now for me. That's why I've said some of the things I've said. It's not very rare at all. Like I see soooo many GTR's, Porsches, and Corvettes its not even funny. :/

ya its all in perspective.... whats really a bang for the buck is a well kept used GTR... for instance i sold mine with 14K miles on it for 60K and it was immaculate... for 60K nothing out there is touching you...

Translation. My rich friends and myself don't know anything about cars. Except the lable on the outside. And I'd rather pay twice or three times as much on a car because it doesnt say "Nissan".

I've heard that same criticism before, though. I don't know if there's any truth to it, but I've heard that the GTR is less engaging than other performance cars because the computer does a lot of the driving.

Ever since GTR's hit showrooms, people have called it "Playstation" because of the electronics. Whereas, a ZR-1 depends more on the driver to do the actual work.

Again, I've not driven either car to know how true it is, but that's a criticism I've seen lodged against the car since it came out.

I think that really depends on where you live. I have maybe only seen a handful of GT-R's on the road ever, but 370Z's I'll see maybe like once or twice a week (outside of meets).

Not a drivers car?

The R35 is rear wheel drive with 500BHP. It only goes to 4 wheel drive if you get out of shape. Totally a different car to the 370. In performance terms it's like comparing a Porsche to a Punto.

The GTR and 370 are both great cars......but there is no real comparision possible.

You couldn't be further off. First off the R35 GTR is not rear wheel drive. It is all wheel drive with the majority of its torque sent to the rear wheels. Its not RWD then AWD when you lose traction. Its mostly RWD and then when you lose traction it detects the situation and sends the necessary amount of power to the front wheels to aid the situation. Its very intuitive. I can't remember how far back it goes but the R34 Skyline GTR was similar and it had the majority of its torque sent to the rear wheels as well giving it the ability to get tailhappy but not crazy unless you really pushed it.

I'd say the comparison is similar to the Silvia S15 (aka 240SX) to the R34 Skyline GTR.

Long Answer:
The Nissan Skyline GT-R is predominately a rear wheel drive (RWD) car. All power, be it a V-Spec model or not, is transferred to the rear wheels. The 4WD control system is called ATTESA. In true Japanese style, this acronym stands for "Advanced Total Traction Engineering System for All wheel drive". This system is used by Nissan on a majority of their 4WD cars and off roaders (Shogun, Pajero, etc.). There is a further refined variation of this system, known as ATTESA-ETS. Where ETS stands for "Electronic Torque Split". This is used in the GTR. Then, there is an updated version again, known as the ATTESA-ETS Pro. The Pro spec version is used on the V-Spec varient (it stands for Victory specification, in honour of the many Nissan motorsport victories, BTW). There are other versions (ATTESA-ETS Pro ELITE, used in motorsport and not commercially available, as there are undoubtably others).

Just in case you need the official version!

If I had enough money, I would get the GT-R over my beloved Z even at the current price. I just can't afford one.

Odd that you have to preface your statement??

..if that was true it should be true EVERYWHERE NOT just Atlanta..

if they were priced the same then i would probably go with the gtr but i would b pissed upon leaving because what nissan doesnt typically tell ppl is that if you buy one, u have to register it either for track or for street and if u register it for street and u take it over a certain speed(i dont remember the exact speed....but i know its less than the z's speed limiter kicks in) then the black box records it and it voids ur warranty through nissan so that would piss me off
