Bro,
The problem isn't ppl holding a phone. It's ppl paying more attn to their conversation than the road.

I do use the GPS often since I've been doing a lot of travel to unfamiliar places :driving: these past couple of years and the voice + bluetooth integration is great.

They passed a law in Maryland not long ago that made handsfree mandatory, although everyone pretty much ignores it and still uses their handsets, which pisses me off  because I wind up getting cut off frequently by unattentive people yapping on their phones in their Escalades , but that's another story.

On the other hand, I've never used the music box (I have my iPod that I've already ripped all my CDs to). Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever used the CD player either . I mostly just use the XM, FM, and iPod.

I'd say go with it if you want its features. Gives the interior that nice finished (sort of luxary) touch.

Evidently caused by driver dropping cell phone while yapping. Went to pick it up and ... well the rest is history.

My wife bought the car. I just drive it. When I need to Nav, I plug in the Garman. The Sat radio works fine. If not, I have the ipod which has my entire music collection on it. A couple of buttons and I am good to go. With the way our Z sounds it would have been a waste of money to add anything other than what it came with. I am not knocking the car, but we bought it for the sheer fun of driving it.

My experience with buying OEM options has been so so. Many times I have paid extra to have equipment installed only to find out that when I went to trade it in, the high paid options did not add to the value of my trade. It only added to the value when the next person bought the car. Over the past years I have noted that although the OEM equipment looks and performs well most high end after market gear is just has good or in some cases even better. Plus, most high end operations can install your gear which has the look of OEM or better.

You are not going to get a good answer here from this forum. I have it and think its great. No matter what is said by others there is no DOWNSIDE to the OEM Nav unit. It is well integrated and looks good.

If you can afford it, get it. It is expensive compared to portable GPS's but.......A portable GPS wont help the value of the car.

If you notice....the guy who said he did not want it.....has a base 370. My opinion is that the CHEAP guys....with little or NO money....will say its not worth it. These are also the same guys who have Ventus V12 tires on their cars and think they are good.....I have Advan Neovas and think think the V12's are cheap junk.

Straight up and down, you are a wannabe. I can smell the (sh)it all the way over here. Base+ sport and NISMO are for the enthusiasts. You might wanna spend 3k on factory crap and think you are somethin hot. While someone else is spendin 25k in mods that you can't see unless you pop the hood. Where that leaves you? Wannabe! Oh and by the way. If you are never going to the track. V12's are more than enough for the street.

:iagree:

Couldn't have said it any better. My previous car I went all out and got the nav, bluetooth, full integration, etcetc etc....

I hardly used it in the 3 years I owned the car.... don't get me wrong, it was "nice", but... was more interested in the "drive" than the techno babbles and "bling" inside the car.

To each his own.

I got mine with nav. As someone else said it was more for the clean look and easy integration with Blue tooth, ipod, etc. My only complaint would be the bose audio system (with any touring model). I wish it was more easily upgraded.

I think Anthony Weiner agrees. He knows a chubby when he sees it. :icon17:

I am a big fan of the few places in the Z that I can hide things. Like my beloved cubbyhole :ugh2: . My only regret is not having a USB port.
