How much was your DMV Renewal cost?

alot of the fees vary by county too, for example i was only charged an additional $20 for a smog abatement fee while my actual license renewal fee was about

Just got back from the DMV. My asian persuation got the $53 late fee waived. Still sucks though. The most ever I've spend on a sticker. I hope it adds 100whp like Type-R stickers do.

I paid more for my prelude back when I lived in LA over a decade ago. Things were much worse before CA revised their fees. You'd be paying more like $1000 back then (no joke)

+2. Plus, we can lock in for two years by paying the second year in advance (which I DON'T do).

AND, we don't have a forced state vehicle inspection.

AND, we don't have a forced state emission inspection.

AND, we don't have a state income tax.

We do however have hurricanes.

The amount IS based on book value. I also have a 2011 Subaru Outback, and the renewal for that is $71. Both are due next month.

Can't wait to move back to Florida. I hate the Republic of VA that taxes you for everything...

I can deal with the hurricanes, grew up watching them in the Island.

Should cost me between $40-$50 here in NJ. I think my old truck cost about $90

I paid just under 500.00 here in Vegas. This is such a big rip off. Why do you have to pay more to drive a nice new car than a old beat up one? Both cars are able to drive on the same roads. Then my wifes new Altima was due the next month, almost 500.00 for that one too!

It's called income redistribution. And get used to more of it, unless changes happen in 2012.

I agree 100% It's the old cars leaking oil, polluting the air, etc. In Cali they charge you a fee to waive the smog check on a new car. Really? Who the hell thought of that one? They charge less for older cars because they know those folks can't afford it and will just drive without registering their cars.

In Seattle I paid $43 a year for any vehicle I owned but now that I'm back in Cali it's the same old ripoff.

And we're still broke!
