Is it indicated in the VIN somehow?

I doubt it, but I don't see why it matters though. The only issue I see with buying a base model with all sport upgrades vs a factory sports package is any potential issues with installation of the various parts. I would think those would be easy to spot just by looking or test driving.

tired of the 2010 4Runner...looking for another car, and I'm still dreaming of the Z, again.

Eventually I ended up from a 350z, to 07 civic, to 08 Altima, back to 2009 370z. The lesson I learned is unless its a upgrade from a Z, I will be disappointed.

So you're going from trading one vehicle in for another vehicle, then trading that vehicle in for the same type of first vehicle you traded in for in the first place??? hmmmmm... you're SURE you're selling your 4Runner for 2k ABOVE what you paid? again hmmmmm... If this were true, I should get in the car-flipping business. lol.
I'll give you the benefit of the doubt....if you really are making 2k, congrats. But I honestly think you're willing to take the hit on the loss of the 4runner because you really want to get back in a Z. Cars are never a good investment...

I honestly do hope you're not accusing me of trolling. Um, I think other members of this forum are smart enough to find something weird about this. I just find it surprising that someone can sell a car for 2k OVER what they bought it for. Who wouldn't want to do that? Vehicles depreciate. That's a fact... unless you own a Ferrari or some other exotic or collectible. In the OP's case, it's a 4runner.
If he really DID sell it for 2k over... great... more power to him. Maybe he can share his secrets on how this is possible. I'd like to sell my Civic for more than its worth too.
