If anything good will come of this? is the Insurance will cover the damages. I'm for the thief to be caught and his hands cutoff!!

better check craigslist. WTF it was on the dealership parking lot. they got balls. Shouldnt the dealership be responsible because it was at the lot?

I know it's your dad's car and all, but the first thing I did when I bought a car is get a Car Alarm w/ tilt & shock sensors and battery backup. Afterwards, then get the wheel locks just to give them extra 2 minutes of the alarm tripping.

I'm currently working with my friend who's a electrical engineer to find good and reliable places around the car to put mini Piezo sirens around the wheel wells. That way, even if they tried to go through the wheel guards, they will be getting the biggest headache of their life.

This is what I'm working with at the moment. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Duwak...eature=related

I tested it on the Z's wheel well...holy crap, high frequency & echoes. Only 10 seconds and I already needing Tylenol for 2 days.

Wow, that is ballsy and upsetting.

Definitely check Craigslist, another member found their stolen wheels that way.

The dealership was the Chapman dealership down by the Navy Yard, however, my dad mentioned that they take their body work jobs to the Ford dealership? I'll confirm whether it was at the Ford or Nissan dealership, but I find it bizarre that they would leave a freshly painted quarter car outside the night they get it finished...

I smell an inside job. This is why I should appreciate living in a small town.

The dealership insurance should take care of it. And yes inside job is what I was thinking too.

Sucks to hear bro. Hope you get new wheels soon. Shouldn't be a problem at all w/ insurance.

I wish US government would allow this to be legalized but i am sure it wont.
Currently this anti-theft system is legal in South Africa

really a shame, I hate thieves. We all work so hard to nice things only to have some loser come and take it and damage the car to boot. Nice. Gotta love people.

Sorry that was poorly worded. The hear hear was to your death penalty comment, and the question about the dealership was directed at the OP. Serves me right for trying to fire off a response on my phone

At least. I'm sure the belly pan is damaged, potential rear diff/cover damage, etc etc. This makes me sick.

Some other things your dad could do (or you although it looks like you live in a different area) would be to check cardomain for local cars displaying "new rims!" and also to stop by the dealership a couple times and just cruise the employee lot. If it is an inside job, you never know how dumb the thief might be. And for the cardomain, one of my friends had his rims stolen a few years back and saw someone showing pictures of their "new" wheels shortly thereafter.
