Venting: Average car owner doesn't care...

I used to park away from everyone at work. But then I started thinking that some may find it rude (as if I am implying that no one is good enough to park next to me).

So I started parking next to everyone else. In one week, I have several really bad damages on my car. Paint completely scratched, several long lines and dents.

I am superbly disappointed, no one gives a damn about anyone else's car. I have always been very careful with other people's belongings, including cars, long before I even owned a vehicle of my own.

Damn it...

This is why you say screw what other people think. Who cares if someone thinks you're a douche for not parking with the rest. At least you've got the peace of mind knowing your car is safe from their nonsense. Sorry to hear about the scratches/dings though. :shakes head:

Yep, it sucks caring about your vehicles like most of us do. The folks at my company know I'm a car guy and most take a little extra care around my car. They park a little farther away when parking next to it, etc.

It helps that I work for a small company too.

I could care less what people think about where I park

DaveyG 05-18-2011 05:43 PM

Thats a tough lesson to learn. Most people don't give a crap about there car so there not gonna care about yours. Park as far you need bro

Right to most people their car is just a tool to get the from A to B. My friends talk crap about where I park all the time like "why do you need to park way over there its just a nissan"

I just respond, "Own one and you'll understand... ...Oh wait. You can't." :tiphat:

I don't park next to people for this reason!! I had a BMW before my Z and after 4 years? No dings or scratches. I could care less what people think I'm paying for it not them

flashburn 05-18-2011 06:02 PM

I don't think people think we are douche's for parking away from others. Even all the non-car people I deal with at the office understand wanting to keep a nice car like ours nice. These are probably the same people that are completely oblivious to themselves smashing the **** out of our car with their doors.

Either that, or they think we have Miata doors.

One time in my truck someone hit my bed while I was in it. They even knew I was in there. You'd think they'd be extra carefull. Well they got the chewing of there life that day even though there was no damage. As bad as this might sound to you guys, they better be lucky they didn't have one remark to say to me.

A Versa or an Altima is "just a Nissan". What is that thing written about "suffering fools"? It is our lot in life with a Z (not just a Nissan).

happens to me too. thats why i spend so much money to have more than one car.

So you can have multiple cars with door dings? Or do you bring an envoy of your cars around to protect each other whenever you go out?

I thought it was because they were both American cars...you need a spare for when the other is in the shop.

Kidding aside...

I was torn between the new Camaro and the Z. I'm waiting for the 550hp Camaro and then I'll sell my S2k to pick one up. :driving:
