Default Revving engine while in park

Today I was at KFC and my 370z is in break in phase with only 700 mi on it. I accidently stepped on the gas causing the rpm's to hit 5-6k while in park. Is this bad since it's still in break in period?

No, you only did it once, you have nothing to worry about. I broke my car in like i stole it, i'm at 22k miles now and it drives like a beauty

There are a couple of schools of thought regarding the "break in" period. Some drive it hard, and others don't.

The important thing is that no one way is better or worse than the other (although I'm sure this point may bring heated discussions like all things Religious or Political).

Bottom line....No worries!!! If it were an issue, there'd be multiple posts about it....and besides: It's still UNDER WARRANTY!!!!

Yeah, don't worry about it. I followed the recommended break-in instructions, but accidentally blipped the RPMs to 5-6k with the synchrorev match on (one time right as I was driving past a cop!). Needless to say, I turned off the feature until I broke the 1,200 mile mark, but I'm at 12,500 miles on my car now and it runs great.

I would bet that somewhere you can find an expert that will categorically state that occasionally blipping the throttle to 5-6000 RPM is the absolute best way to break in an engine.

It's not good for it, but I HIGHLY! doubt it hurt a thing. Forget it happened.
