A small break in the wire from a rock that flew up into the undercarriage can do it. After that, all I can think of is over oiled filters if you have them, meaning you need to clean the MAF's or something really weird like a clogged cat. Try confirming the MPG first and then we can go from there. Any fluttering or low idle?
