Sometimes, if you build your engine. On that install, they changed nothing internally. Same with most installs. Most people can't afford to actually change the internals substantially on their engine for an FI build.

yeah, you drowned it out

The roughness is due to really poor balancing on an engine that is stroked out way too far. Unless you changed something internally, it is still going to be there.

That's probably it. A lot of the audible harshness is gone with the exhaust and intake noise, but you can definitely feel it.

With a proper exhaust and you add a TWIN turbo you (not single) you will hear a lot less harshness in the engine. It won't go away, but it will reduce.

how will that help internally balance an inherently unbalanced engine design?

I don't think the 3.7 has been stroked out way too far yet. There's a lot of Z's out there stroked out to 4.2l. Yes they need a cylinder sheath but they are doing it succesfully. I think this engine can safely go to 3.8 or 3.9.

Urethane motor mounts.

Not really sure how that will help, though. Like Dan is saying, unless you're building (and balancing) motor internals, I don't see how just forcing more air through it is going to make it feel any smoother. Power delivery will feel smoother, yes, but the engine itself should still feel pretty much the same at high RPMs.

Now, with the added rush of another 100+ whp, you probably won't be focused on that at all. It could just be a psychological effect.

'cylinder sheaths' = sleeved cylinder?

Urethane motor mounts will help how?

kizz my azz

Besides, the IPL G doesn't come in a black cherry of any sort. At least not on Infiniti's website. Just saw grey and black.

My dude... they call it some sort of black... but IN REAL LIFE. Not magazines. The metallic flakes are not shiny metalgrain silver. The metallic flakes are metallic red. So with light refracting from the car, its black with a red hue. To me, that is what I grew up knowing as black cherry. The black cherry 370 is closer to a maroon.
As far as the silver ipl... I never seen it in person.

My car's color is awesome. I kinda wish it were a bit more maroon, but I love it just the same. There's no shortage of hate for it, though.

Naw BC is nice. I like the color. I'm just saying calling it black cherry was a dumb move.
