Its looking more & more like I'm going to be taking a job in Dubai, UAE for the next 2 years. Just wondering if the higher end Nissans over there (Maxima, current Z, Infins) are US spec, or are they European spec, just with left hand drive controls. I have to get a car (company does give out a monthly auto allowance), & was just exploring the feasibility of importing it to the US, instead of wasting all that money & having to sell the car when I leave.

We have a few members from the UAE here that I'm sure will be able to help you. I think at least one of them imported his Z from the US which would probably make it easier for you to get it back to the States after your contract is up.

Some middle east countries have very strick import and export laws. And it could depend greatly on your citizenship too. I suggest looking into their import / export laws. Also find out how foreign drivers are treated during an accident. Is it automatically your fault? Are the driving laws unusually harsh?
