If you drive a Nissan, you're not an American?

You crazy buy American guys are scary. Might I suggest you look less at global company's original country of origin and focus on well run companies investments in our country.

Nissan North America is based in the US and has made huge investments in our country, hired thousands of American workers, paid US corporate taxes, etc. In many ways Japanese management structure ( truly a US management philosophy that wasn't embraced by traditional US manufactures) has brought more empowerment to manufacturing floor employeees in the US.

Nissan US manufacturing employees even made vehicles for Ford for several years!

Even our 370z exterior was designed in California by a Canadian!

Perhaps better crtiteria for poorly informed "Buy American" dorks need to be more concerned about is where their brand of car is actually made as there are plenty of Ford and GM cars with little or no US content. Even cars assembled in US have motors and transmissions from other countries and many parts from China.

My Chevy truck is made in Mexico. Does driving a big Chevy crew cab truck make me more American? ....I think not! I'd be more American if I drove a Nissan Truck made by US workers!

One more thought. Access to free markets to all citizens is what makes US the great country we are. In many ways the buy American crowd reminds me of old school Russian commies. They limited their citizens to Russian cars for years. Look where that got them!

And its clear profits from Nissan sales in the US are being invested in US operations, they built that new headquarters, invested "profits" in expanded US manufacturing. They are also building a new battery plant in the US! The profits don't all go back to Japan just as profits from Ford and GM don't all come back to the US. If anything Ford and GM are investing less in the US and investing more in Former Soviet Union and China!

No I'm pissed at Ford taking profits from your Mustang and building billion dollar Ford Focus manufacturing and distribution operation in Russia! Ford is expanding to two manufacturing locations in Russia with production capability of 300,000 cars per year! And it will be exporting cars and motors from Russia to other regions of the world. How could you support a company who funds the Commies? I like that strategy take money from stupid Americans who think they are supporting US economy and send the money to Russia to put US workers out of work. Hows that sound commrade? Lol!

No worries you're just easy target Mustang man! And you and I probably share much in common. I make my living setting up global operations for multinational companies. However I do crazy things like putting my current global call center in a New York college town rather than India.
