What was frustrating was I kept trying to say nice things and it got worse and worse. I mind my business so I expect no problems.

The funny thing is, I get along with most everyone and don't go around looking for confrontations and fights. I didn't feel threatened but it was kindof strange. What I should have told him is that two weeks before he moved in, illegal aliens did the roof on his house and asked him where the money he spends at Wal Mart goes....

I don't blame you for asking. It sure is strange to me. Nope, it went down like I said. The irony is I am a private person and mind my business and never bother neighbors or have had probles with them. Maybe he is a hardcore union guy. I guess I'll find out. Stay tuened.

Inspector- there's no irony here. you're a private person. i suggest you not approach him and just wave 'hi' when you see him. expect that he will ignore you but dont feel bad. he will see that you're trying to be nice and making effort.

just give the guy time and space. you approached him on a bad day/bad time and you unknowingly said things he didn't want to hear. doesnt matter if he's a hardcore union guy or not. he has is beliefs and values. dont mess with it as it's like religion to them.

This guy sounds like a disgruntled postal worker.

Inspector, I agree with Kenchan (whose Asian background is being questioned, I just learned. As soon as I type this I will call Donald Trump and get him right on that), that if you give the guy space you can co-exist. Don't waste your breath trying to education him.

But whatever you do, don't let him catch you with any imported beer or wine!

That is an excellent point

But the plant in Mississippi doesn't count because it's not unionized.

Default This would have made it worse...

My dad only drove GM products: Chevrolet, Buick, Olds, I drove Chevies too, and so did two of my three brothers. But we had los of problems with them in the late 70s and well into the 80s. Our Citation tried to dissassemble itself while being driven. I worked for a city and drove either a Ford or a Chevy and the mechanics said the Chevrolets kept them in business. Maybe they are better but, after spending lots of money on repairs bills and dealing with uncooperative dealers, we all said enough and switched to other brands. My dad, who was a die-hard Chevy man, now only drives Hondas. He has had no problem with those cars. I could have told my neighbor this but the real rub was his definition of being an American. I could have told him my dad was in the USMC and fought in Korea, my mom was in the Navy, two of my brothers in the Navy, and I did my little part state side but I don't believe I have to prove my "American" credentials to anyone nor should I ask it of anyone else.

I wonder if these douches that it to manufacture. For example, what would they do if a member drives his ford to a GM autoworkers union meeting? Is he un-American or disloyal? Will they strip it to the frame in the parking lot?

RugbyRef will become famous soon enough
Default Funny....

....I ran into almost the same attitude here in Jackson, Missouri (just moved here from Chicago). Have the 2011 370Z Touring/Sport Coupe and, with attitude of some here, you would have thought I just planted a flag that said "BUY FOREIGN"! Thank goodness for my Dodge Ram 1500....

Cheers!

Tim

Be careful bandying the "Donald" name about so carelessly. It is my first name too.
