60 mph[96km/h] on 6th gear.?

My 370z won't goes up to 7th gear @ 60 mph,is that normal.?My country's speed limits is only that fast,this means i cannot get into 7th gear unless i break the law.!

Are you in manual mode?

I believe overdrive (7th) is locked out in manual mode. It was this way on the Infiniti's so it's probably the same on the Z. Should go into 7th automatically if in D.

To test drive at 100 km/h in manual mode 6th and note the RPM. Move to D and you should see the RPM's drop slightly.

7 is usable in manual mode, but there are ranges for each gear. If the gear you want to move to would redline the car when downshifting, or take the rpms way too low upshifting, it won't let you do it. I don't actually recall whether 7th is usable at 60mph on mine, but I'll check when I drive later today.
