This is why I work hard at parking smart.
Some people think I'm obsessive for parking far away or looking for that "just right" spot that offers protection, but who wants to deal with crap like that when it's preventable, or you can at least reduce the likelihood of it happening with strategic parking.
Aside from the cost of the repair or your insurance deductible, you have to deal with the hassle of getting the estimate and the down time of the car's visit to the shop not to mention getting someone to pick you up and take you to and from the shop when you drop off and pick up your car.
Who's got time for that nonsense?

Then it will apppear in carfax as the car having a collision, accident, repair or replacement part, unless you fix it yourself.

Sorry to see that man - luckily it isn't too bad. Just some sanding and a respray away. Think of it this way - you get shiny new clearcoat stronger than the one Nissan uses from the factory.

damn Ron, nearly the exact same thing happen to me 3 yrs ago to my 04 cts AT WORK. They let everyone go home early for the holiday weekend but i had to stay later. When i get out to the parking lot someone had turned to sharp and went across the front passenger side bumper.Took some of the paint completely off but no dent or cracks and they didnt bother to leave a note or anything. Believe me when i say for the next 2 weeks i walked the parking lot looking for the car i thought did it and to my surprise that car never showed back up at the office.

Mine didnt quite look as bad as yours does but it appears the scratches from mine were deeper. If you have not already had it looked at , going off of my repair the bumper was replaced and the cost i believe ranged from 1k-1200, cant remember. Insurance had no problem paying for a replacement instead of pushing for it to just be repaired. I just think it would be tough to find a place that can do a quality bondo job for 500 dollars but i could be wrong.

I did take precautions, I always park far away from everything that moves or against something... This time I parked against a wall leaving lots of space behind and on the other side of the car... and still.. sometimes you just can't avoid it

The above was just a rant that had nothing to do with your parking.
Sucks you got bit. I'll be curious to know how your repair goes.

Nooooooooooo Ron! Somebody door dinged my Nismo. Left a nice dent in my door and white mark, but I got the mark out myself. Just a dent now. But yours is probably a bit more expensive.

It's really not as bad as it looks. The actual bumper is ok, there are no dents nor is it bent anywhere. It's the lighting and the fact that's dirty that makes it look like its warped or something
