If someone is parked well away from other cars and the lot is not very full, I don't see it as being douchey to take up multiple spaces. If the lot is near capacity and you're parked weird*, then, yeah, you're a douchebag.
IMNSHO, taking up more than two spaces, even if parking in the middle of nowhere, is the penultimate in parking douchebaggery. Taking a handicapped space takes the cake. *I have seen situations where the lot was full and I had to park weird because that was all the space that was left (the preceding drivers parked weird). Looks bad when you come back out and there are no cars nearby.

We have a winner.
I watched this guy back in all the way up to the road work sign, ahead of the "No Parking: Here to Corner" sign.  Truth be told, his parallel parking skills were not crappy at all.

This the second time this has happened at our monthly meet spot
Mind you this happened in front of 30 people  the curbs are really short but protrude far into the lot and if you're unfamiliar with the parking lot this can happen, straight up the rock!
