:iagree: you've got a lot more room to move over to the curb. I'm literally within inches when I park next to the curb. I leave as much room on the other side as I can because of this situation.

The more room we give them, the more they will take! It's human a**hole nature. We are all stupid.
I ALWAYS park the best that I can, but somehow every time I mentally relax and think "Oh, I'm just being paranoid, it will be OK" something happens. The other day I parked out in the wilderness in the shade of a nice healthy tree. Then when I come out to my car, there's a small tree limb next to it, and yep, you guessed it, new scratches all down the rear window, across the paint on the trunk lid, and across the taillight. I'm just about to stop caring....

I think what really happens is that people aren't looking at the lines, but their spacing in relationship to the adjacent vehicle.

Yikes! Hopefully that shopping cart didn't roll backwards on it's own, nearly missing your car...

Yes. A $308k car can have as many spots as it wants.

Btw: love your avatar pic!

Agreed. A door ding for them is $$$ vs $ (us)!

Yeah try taking that thing to the track where "poof"! Your insurance evaporates the moment the car goes on the track property.
I guess all the "Track Guys" here on the forum have their car paid for so insurance doesn't matter? Does life/health insurance evaporate at the track also?

Health and life shouldn't have any issues with track events. And many track events have insurance you can purchase. I'm not sure how the rest of your post relates to crappy parking, especially in response to the post about door dings you quoted.

I'm nutty about my new car too. I have to remind myself it's just a car.

Not really a crappy Parker but unusual all the same!
From a distance this car looked like a coppery disco ball...it's being covered in pennies! Lol drivers side was incomplete.
