In MD if you bring it back to get the same problem fixed 3 times and you still have the same problem, then you can return it through the lemon law.

this makes you sound like you belong in a camry than a sports car

TX is pretty strict about that the lemon stuff. I doubt he would get away with it on a brand new car.

Why would you go for a base? You already wasted your money on the NISMO. Might as well go all out.

I agree with most, the only way to get the maximum back is a private sale. You can also see if the dealer will sell it on consignment. If you trade it, you won't get the taxes back on it and you will have to pay all the taxes and plates all over again.

I impulse buy slot of stuff, but would never on a car. No matter how sexy it is. It's not a cheap date.

Eating while driving should be illegal.

Wrenise 03-15-2011 04:07 PM

You can eat and drive as long as it's hands free.

LuckyJinx 03-15-2011 04:08 PM

What would Jesus do? He'd keep the Nismo, then turn water into wine and have a smashing grand time with his new Nismo!

Tell your local legislature.

Meanwhile, my local legislature made it illegal to drive while texting or talking on the phone, but yet they say it's ok if you're on a hands-free, even though the real problem with talking while driving is that you're distracted, not that you have one hand off the wheel.

Eating while driving = its a sports car, you don't eat in it! unless you want stains all in your $35k car. Come on dude. If you bought an automatic, you probably wouldnt have as much fun the time you are not stuffing your face.

Road Noise = dynomatt the trunk, perhaps the whole car. Cost about maybe $500, if that.

Red Exterior = full vinyl wrap it! it will cost you less than trading it in and when you take it off later you got new paint!

I say keep it! you bought it impulsively anyways, cut your losses and enjoy, its a great car! and if you are worried about the harsh ride, im sure someone here will trade you some base wheels and probably throw you some cash too.

Nismo has too much road noise.

So you bought a Nismo knowing that you are the type of guy who wants to eat in his sports car and avoid road noise?! :wtf2:

NecioVato 03-15-2011 05:09 PM

You already took a loss on one car (the roadster), are you sure you want to take ANOTHER loss on this car? I mean, if the 1st time you returned it...so be it, but to do it a 2nd time....why??

I see you live in Dallas (me too); if I had the money I would be curious what you would be selling it for, etc. Hmm...have you thought about having someone take over payments for you with some cash on the side to not make the loss TOO bad?

zmyride 03-15-2011 05:52 PM

Liar Liar.

Nobody buys a $40K car on impulse, unless you have too much cash laying around under your mattress. But if you have too much cash, why would you care about a $5K loss for a trade in?

/\ I agree. Either the OP is pulling our leg, or he is mentally challenged and shouldn't be allowed to make large purchases w/o a co-signer.

BrianMSmith 03-15-2011 05:59 PM

Maybe it's cheaper to "fix" the car instead of trading, maybe try different springs and dampers? Isn't most else "Nismo" just lipstick and hairspray?

lots of people buy cars on impulse. Most dealer strategies are based around getting people to buy on impulse.

Dynamat and a vinyl wrap will solve 2 of those problems for under 2k id say stick with it. Its alot better then taking a 5k loss
