I chose a z33 GT over a Z33 Nismo for that reason. However, I have always secretly lusted for a Z33 nismo when I hit the twisties.
You could always Net the nismo and have the seats upholstered And buy aftermarket Navigation system. That's what I would do.

Yep - and go aftermarket Nav...

But I really like the way the factory nav integrates into the steering wheel adn how it is voice-activated. Also, the HDD music storage in the touring/NAV package is cool.

Definitley doable...

Wonder if it will still overheat.
Simple physics would suggest yes if nothing has been done to address the issue.

However, given the suggestion of ECU mods, there could be some hope. On the 335i Dinan increased the flow time on the water pump to help compensate for the heating issue. That was with an electric pump. Is the Z's pump mechanical?

just curious as to why they didnt give it 380hp.... like the previous 380RS.
common nissan!!!! that Z would have almost been a 911 competitor at that power rating.

8,000 rpm, 380hp,12.5:1 compression and with direct injection 400hp. just copy porsche.

Think of the millions it would cost to federally certify a new engine. Nissan was able to utilize the existing VQ37VHR and tune it with less backpressure for a 18 HP bump. Not cheap, but a cost effective way to offer slightly better performance from an engine that has already met all testing requirements.

Besides, Nissan already has a strong 911 competitor in the GT-R...

So I"m guesiing this bad boy will be breaking the 1.00 G barrier with the extra rigidity and .5 inch wider tires......

Maybe a 0-60 in teh 4.6 or 4.5 range

another thing is while the akebono calipers look pretty good. the wheel spokes are so thin it exposes the rotors so much, im thinking a drilled or slotted rotor there would help with that area of the car.

something im sure can easily be addressed in the aftermarket.

all i know is im gonna be first in line to test drive one in june

yeah of course.

im just sayin its one thing if you are trying to get into a 370z and 29-30K is where you need to be to make it happen. so no leather no nav thats fine... but if your buying the most expensive trim on the coupe at atleast 10K more you shouldnt have to sacrafice anything. and its not just the NAV its the interface screen in general with the driver info and the radio station display for me it adds alot to the overall feel of the interior instead of that door.

not complaning at all its just i dont understand why it has to be an either or situation. why cant for 3.5K more you have the option to add that as a package to your nismo. in japan the NISMO 350z came with NAV standard and these beautiful leather and alcantra seats. it seems it was a marketing decision to not offer it in the US

if i didnt have a GT-R june 1st or whenever they hit showrooms i would be there in line for one. i would want this over a carrera cayman S or M3. but i would want a 45K if it need be car with everything the touring has that would compare with the other cars i mentioned.... that would still be by far the best value
