I guess I'm not looking for a brand per-say, I am looking more for opinions on if a traditional oil will break down to much over 12 months to provide

I guess I'm not looking for a brand per-say, I am looking more for opinions on if a traditional oil will break down to much over 12 months to provide proper protection even if it is only 1500 to 2000 miles over the year. I like knowing that synthetic will provide great protection for that time frame, but is it worth the cost if the normal oil will do the same. I will likely just pony up and use AMS Oil, even though it will be $65 for an oil change, but it is a $40,000 car, what is $65 a year?
