Looking at yours, it looks like my coverage sucks. It's the 2nd highest that allstate had to offer.

What company do you have?
I live in a crime free neighborhood in nassau county, on long island. my car is garaged. i have perfect credit, clean record (Driving and legally). aside from my age and gender i dont really have any material strikes against me that should make my rates high.

i think the biggest factor is if you are older or younger than 25. theoretically me and chuck should have similar insurance. same car, same area (more or less) but i'm 22 he's 27, and that costs me literally double his insurance.

Mine is the highest State Farm offered in DE. For a small increase I was able to significantly raise my limits which to me it was worth it. I realized I was getting less coverage for more $ when I moved here from NJ. My NJ insurance company limits were higher and my premiums were about the same.

That's what I was trying to explain to everyone here. Now at least some good has come out of this thread

Oh BTW, off topic but I noticed you dont have pics of your PG Z, did you sell it? I loved the Volk GT30s on that car.

I pay Nationwide $62/mo. for full coverage. Shop around. The car insurance business has become a buyers' market.

Yeah the PG Z is sold , but on the plus side i did steal all the modds off of it and put them on my PW Z and got the CF Amuse kit minus the wing. I'm looking at the VIP type 3 wing now.

I live in the same area as you and my insurance went way down when I turned 25 (30 now). When I bought my first car, an 89 Jeep Cherokee with over 160k miles on her, my insurance was about $1000/6 months. I had paid $3,500 for the car. Insurance companies hate young drivers in general, which is understandable. Most are horrible drivers, which sucks for young responsible drivers.

it honestly just seems totally random to a certain extent. one would think a 94 300zx twin turbo would cost more to insure for a 22 year old than an 89 cherokee, but alas, it makes no sense. the quote i got for the 300 is 645, which is less than the thousand you paid for the cherokee.

FWIW I pay more for my 2003 Jeep dd than I do for my Z pleasure vehicle. And even if the Z wasn't listed as a pleasure vehicle the Jeep would still be more. SUVs are not all cheap to insure.

When i first went to allstate from my last insure. com. they told me the only car on their uninsure list was the 300zx i don't remember the year of the Z. They said it was due to it's poor performance in the crash test, and higher theft rate.

I was 17 at the time. No credit whatsoever and less than a year of driving, so that might have had something to do with it.

My insurance dropped substantially when I turned 25. I got my license at 17 or 18 I think. Got it while living in TX.
