We had some snow/ice over christmas here in dallas...the 370z did not enjoy the ice one bit. even going slow (5mph), i'd see the VDC light flicker as i tried to take a turn. im sure the tires were frozen hockey pucks and my only saving grace was that the roads weren't completely frozen.

next time there's ice, im staying home.

Yeah, they call them Summer tires for a reason. Granted snow in Dallas is pretty rare, but up here in the NE if you want to get around in the winter you get snow tires. Unfortunately only about 10% of the population up here has figured this out, so you still get a crazy number of accidents when it snows. 4WD doesn't mean squat without the right tires.

I've taken mine out a couple of times with 1-2" on the road (even drove it through hilly Western MD while the snow was coming down) without any problems on stock summer tires. If you have the MT, just remember to start it in 2nd and take it very easy off the line and around corners and you'll be fine. I wouldn't recommend long trips through it, but it CAN be done.

Rather than by wheels+winter tires, I think I AM going to break down and pick up a $1000 beater from Craigslist or something for the bad days.
