I myself just put off the whole dating/relationship game and wanted to become financially stable before trying to find someone. As for the car thing I think a beater might be a good idea but reliability can always be a problem.

Before my 370z I leased a non-turbo Subaru Impreza (2006) for around $200/month. It was severely lacking in power compared to the 370Z but it actually handles very well for a 15-16k car.

I ended up just buying it at the end of the lease and my dad bought half of it and its kind of both of our 'spare' car and it is stored in his garage. Its not a bad car. When my dad's 350z had engine failure he was using my subaru and was pretty happy with its performance (it has decent power and handles well). Its no comparison to the Versa that my sister drives.

I used to think "oh, when I make money/have stuff, I will date".

Now that I kindof do, I want to date even less. I've "made it" through the worst part of life (excluding end-stage), and now I feel like I deserve to enjoy myself and kick back and focus on my career and what it has allowed me to get for myself.

Run out of time? I'm not worried about it. I don't need anyone to muck life up. All my co-workers keep trying to get me interested in these girls they know, etc. etc., and it just looks like a recipe for failure.

If any tucker-maxisms occur, I will be sure to post it in OT, though, lmao

That's what friends are for. Grab a movie, go to the range, cruise around, just hang out at the house. You don't need a relationship to not be lonely. My problem is work. I only work 3-4 days a week, and if I picked up OT, it would bump me into the next tax bracket just BARELY unless I picked up a TON of OT to get into the meat of that bracket. Basically, I can work what I work now, or work a little more and make nothing for it, or work 6 days a week and make a bit more.

I'll just be bored at times, lol.

Tax brackets don't work that way. You're not going to lose out because you go into the next bracket by $1000, only the portion that falls into that bracket gets taxed at the higher rate.

Let's say you earned $35000, the first $34000 would be taxed at 15%, the last $1000 would be taxed at 25%. Sure, you getting 10% less out of the extra work that puts you over but it's not like your ever going to lose money by working more.
