Default 2010 vs 2011 Nismo

I was at the dealership today and spoke with the sales manager who gave me a deal on a 2010 Touring + Sport 370z in back. I told him I would not pay anything more than invoice and he said he could give me invoice price OTD. The deal was tempting and I almost locked it in but I didn't because I am tempted to buy a Nismo edition instead.

What would you guys recommend? Would you buy a Touring + Sport and spend the cash to modify or buy a 2011 Nismo?

The only reason the Nismo appeals to me is because of the look and the fact that it is limited and I won't see many around.

Also I plan on modifying it either way because it would see some track time and the occasional drag strip.

If you like the look, go for it. The Nismo actually is worth extra, the touring doesn't add much when you resale

Invoice OTD sounds like a fantastic deal. It depends though, do you want what comes with the touring package? If you're gonna upgrade the stereo, that leaves the seats as the only benefit over base model. Also imo nismo isn't really worth it unless you don't plan on modding at all.

Based on you wanting to mod your Z why not get some luxury also? The Nismo is a good out of the box car, but if you want to start ripping pieces off and replacing them then you are sort of throwing money away for no reason.

It's 2011. You should be able to get a 2010 model for BELOW invoice. The Nismo looses some nice options that the touring includes. Frankly, I'd get the touring/sport and upgrade as desired. The Nismo body doesn't do much for me.

He said invoice price OTD, so I'm guessing he means with taxes and everything.

I would say if you like the look of the nismo, go for that. It'll cost more to get a body kit down the road to make the touring/sport look the way you like. Otherwise, the touring/sport is fine to have a slightly nicer interior out of the box and you can always do some engine and exhaust mods later on.

If I could do it over, I probably would get a nismo and put money into the interior.

i would go with the touring sport. the nismo doesn't represent a good value to me. i'd rather have other things for the car vs what the nismo comes with that's different than the regular Z. don't get me wrong, there's nothing bad about the nismo but they aren't that rare and i'd rather buy a touring sport and make it my own with the saved money, especially for invoice OTD.

I'd buy Touring + Sport. The NISMO is a ripoff in my book as it weighs more, and has less features, than any other trim level.

It was invoice OTD, including all the tax and title. He also said he would try to give me a price very close to the Touring + Sport on the Nismo but he would have to order it or try and get one in.

I don't need the extras the Touring model has to offer if it was just what he had on the lot and they were trying to move it since it was a 2010.

I plan on upgrading everything anyways so the interior amenities don't mean too much to me. The only thing that I like in the Nismo is the exterior and the fact that they are limited.

If you guys read my other post when I was deciding against the 370 vs the X. I have to say my decision was based on how poor Mitsubishi's service is. I went to them earlier before Nissan and they guy was very rude and didn't even let me test drive!? I'd have to buy on the spot. The sales rep said, "would you want someone test driving and putting miles on a $40,000 car?" What a joke.

I would prefer the Touring, b/c it comes with features that most would want when it comes to resale, and they do add value:

Leather-appointed power heated seats with synthetic suede inserts, driver's adjustable lumbar support, digital Bose® audio system with 8 speakers, including 2 subwoofers, XM® Satellite Radio, [2] Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, HomeLink Universal Transceiver, auto-dimming rearview mirror, aluminum-trimmed and rear cargo cover.

For me, thats i took the Touring w/ Sport + Navi which provides level of comfort, look and interior appointments.

Nismo is a made for a very particular niche group of enthusiasts and Nissan can markup the price and sell the car to that demographic.

But when it comes to resale, I think it will be more difficult to sell a Nismo, say in three years, b/c it will likely have been modded further, driven on the track, which may turn away buyers, but I am sure for those enthusiants looking for good deals, Nismo will be worth the price.

I love the look of the Nismo, but I the Touring+Nav would be really expensive to match and can't really be duplicated after market. Without the Nav still lots of work for someone, and I'd rather not have that much taking apart/putting together done. You generally end up with little niggling faults with work done around here.

My ideal would have been a Nismo Touring+Nav 7AT (But with the sport wheels.)

Are you a homosexual?
Has a girl ever been rude to you?

Point made.
(unless you are indeed gay, in which case, why are you still gay since by your own admission a guy was rude to you?)

Buy the car you want, not the one that just happens to be sold at one of thousands of places where others like it are sold, where a couple of people pissed in your cheerios.

The touring/sport package will be impossible to replicate unless you gut one from a wrecking yard, or just dump sick amounts of money that you will never get back, into it. I would think the cheap NISMO body kit would be MUCH easier to copy than a nice interior.

Lollol. This made me laugh. I was not venting because I was angry a sales man was rude to me. It was just to share how shitty Mitsubishi service is. I'm also on the Evo X fourms where there is a thread about how poor Mitsubishi is compared to other companies. If you are still curious about my sexuality, no I'm not gay but maybe for you if you play your cards right big boi.

Also I don't care about replicating or resale value. The car will be tracked and parts will be broken. I wouldn't want to sell it down the road. It's simply a toy not an investment. If I wanted that I'd buy a house instead.

What do you plan to replicate the Nismo kit with? Z1 sell the kit for over 5 grand. I haven't seen them cheaper.

You missed the entire gist of my post, I think. I was basically saying if one rude woman hasn't turned you gay, then one rude Mitsu salesman shouldn't turn you against the entire brand.

Jeez, $5K for that!? I am assuming you have felt the kit? It is rather...not $5K-ish in feel.

If you are going to just beat on it, why not buy a 2009 and save big?

http://businesscenter.jdpower.com/ne...spx?ID=2010021

Nissan is worse than Mitsubishi, regarding dealership satisfaction. Hell, Nissan is darn near at the very bottom.
