FairladyZ???

Can someone explain to me what the difference is in a "FairladyZ" and the 370Z? I can't seem to see anything different than the name?

In Japan the car is the "Fairlady Z" across all model years.

For the US market they call each model the "### Z" based on engine size. 300Z, 350Z, 370Z... you get it.

It'd be like if Ford sold the Mustang in America but called it the "460 GT" or "500 GT" in the rest of the world.

Fairlady Z is the name of the car in Japan. 370z is the name of the car in the US. I believe in Europe and other countries too. Not sure about that. From what i heard, US didnt want to sell the car named fairladyz because they thought that consumers would not drive around a car named fairlady. I got rid of my 370z and added fairladyz cause its a sexy name.

I didn't see this come up in a search, but I found a French article about the 2011 FairladyZ (Z34) and how it has a "Snow Mode" for slippery roads and better starts. Is this for the JDM or Euro version of the car only? I have no clue if its only jdm or euro. But i know one thing. US Zs blow compared to euro and jdm versions.

All I can say is thank God they didn't call it a "Fairlady Z" in the US. If there's a worse name for a car I'm not sure what it is.

I like fairlady Z but no way in hell am I going to stick that on my car

european Zs don't have that slippery mode/snow mode. first time I heard of the term. I know the GT-R has a snow button.

I don't care what they call the mustang here they can call it magic unicorn GT for all I care I want mustangs here

as far as I know fairlady Z is only in japan.

Not really.

Let's look at some differences.

In the US, you can buy trims that include a base trim (so you can save money up front and mod how you like) to the Nismo trim. Those aren't available everywhere. In fact, in Canada, all Z's are sport/touring.

In Canada and other places, you get the rear fog lamp. I ordered one with a switch. Cost me a couple hundy, but that's what I wanted. If you don't buy one, you're missing out on one extra light.

In other places you can get a rear wiper. oh noes.

In Japan, it's called a Fairlady. Not a better or worse name imo, just different.

In Europe, you could have bought the 40th anniversary trim in grey or black.

I may be wrong, but I think the 40th came with nav in other countries, not in the US, but that's just one option on one trim, and there are aftermarket options.
