To address the original question, the dead pedal is attached to the carpet, not the floor. It should be fairly easy remove the dead pedal and to install a fabricated

To address the original question, the dead pedal is attached to the carpet, not the floor. It should be fairly easy remove the dead pedal and to install a fabricated wooden spacer block (pick a dimension that suits your needs) between the dead pedal and the floor of the footwell.
