Default Having trouble getting touch up paint.

I called the dealer yesterday to order some touch up paint for just in case. Was told that it could be months before it come available in chicane yellow because that car is actually imported over.

This sounds like complete bull -ish. Has anyone else been able to get this color for touch up or know if I can just special order it from somwhere?

I have a very small rick knick near the bottom of the front bumper and it can be touched up w/o even noticing.

Forumite, search the net for "Dr. Colorchip" I would use them way before I'd get a factory touch up kit. You give them your paint code and they mix in a sealant with the paint. You will be way more satisfied with the results. I use them on my high end machinery for stone chips, etc.

Where do you find the paint code? I have a couple of small chips in inconspicuous places that I would like to touch up.

It will be on your drivers side door. Should only be like 3 letters under COLOR.

Dr. Colorchip worked great for me. But my Z is M. Blue. Anyway, I documented my results in this thread if you want to check it out.

I used Dr. Colorchip for my 335i. The dealer couldn't get paint for Crimson Red. It had been out a year!

It look like it really didn't help. I wonder how it will help for people that get the white 370?

What are you talking about? You can't even see the chip under normal light anymore.

The answer to your question has been answered above. I would try the dealer first

Does anyone have advice on using the touch up paint and the clear coat?

I ordered some touch up paint online. Do I need the clear coat?
I tried using clear coat before, and I screwed up. Any advice?

Step by step.

Thanks guys

Just mix it before you apply. Take a dab of base coat, dab of clear on a pallet and just mix together.

I take a toothpick and tap the tip flat to use as my applicator. GL!
