Was the car cold or at running temp?

Sometimes when my car isn't fully warmed up the shifter is harder than normal. Once the gearbox fluid heats up it's very smooth.

My car as 16,xxx miles on it as of today.

both... even when the car had just started and after about 30 mins or running also...

the temp's have been around 30-40 F but that has been the same for a couple months now...

I'm sure the shifter will wear in some and the play will get worse with age and mileage. However, like I said, by car has 16k miles on it and I think it feels great.

Coming from an STi... it's MUCH smoother. Although I did like the bolt-action feel of the Subaru gearbox.
