I've had it go to --- and filled up, only to have it take just under 18 gallons.

After reading all of these posts it is probably better & safer to fill up at a 1/4 of a tank.

You might need your fuel sender replaced... couple people on the forum have had the same types of issues.

Well I've learned a my lesson when it comes to replacing parts that might fail. I started having little trouble with clutch and I replaced almost all of it. Flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate, and slave with an HD slave. Well it cost me about $1700 only to make it worst and harder to drive. My car has suffered from all the issues-slave, fuel gauge, back wheel noise at low speeds, and now ECU whine. Well I wont be worrying about anything until the **** brakes down. Its a my fault for getting the first production year on this model it comes with all the little bugs that get worked out later as model years go by. Ill just drive 350 miles on tank and/or wont let it go below 1/4 tank.

Do you guys know how much your car fills up gallon wise? My car only gets about 16.7-16.8 gallons on a fill up. Is that right?

The Z's tank holds 19 gallons. So your leaving about 2 gallons everytime you fill up.

I wait for the light to go on before thinking about putting gas in. Been down to zero a couple of times. Usually jumps from 20 right down to zero. WTF, I'm still good.

2011, 1st batch after the tsunami. Even had the "passed radiation" dots on it. Don't think they did anything to fix this one it but so far so good on the fuel starvation issue. Wish I could say the same for the hot oil thing.

I had my fuel senders replaced at ~20k. After the replacement, the fuel gauge now reads full after filling up.

The range is usually pretty accurate. I can get up to 400 miles to the tank when I fill up at the last dot!

Man 400 miles is the best!!! Just want to share this. Just got off from chevron and I filled to 19.xx gallons. That's will be top off. Look at my gas gauge. The bars won't go full. Take this picture with my receipt. Go to dealer and showed to my service manager. Because this is my second attempted to dealer. First trip. They test it out and said no problem. So I decided to do this. The gasoline station to the dealer just 3 miles away. So there's no way I can burned 2 bars in 3-5 mins. So they took my car in. Then after couple of hours. They called me and told me yes the gas gauge was defected. They said just pick up my car and return the loaner and use the z t low the gas because they need it to be low. Since the part have to order 3-5 days. They will call me and bring the car back in. So whoever in forum got same issues. Just bring the car in or do same thing like I did. Sorry for a bad English.

They towed my car to dealer because of steering lock mechanism was bad and body control module was bad too. So they replaced 2 parts then reprogram my key. bring it home tested the other key. But didn't work.I got a low tire pressure on the day I picked up my car I was thinking maybe no big deal so I take it home. Then checked out 4 wheels but all around 30 psi so I know it was good so I was thinking they changed my frequency so they also need to reset or reprogram the tire sensors too. On the day they towed my car to the dealer I mentioned to them about the fuel gauge. they noted it and tested out. The result was just normal/working... So since I have to bring my car in to reprogram my key and reset the tires sensors. Then I go filled full tank and show them the evidence. Now they say yes it was bad and they will replace the fuel sending unit. They also done a recall for our z. All the 2010 z owners with nav there's a recall for our map update or software update. I'm not saying they wil update your nav to 2012 (I wish) they just going to update the software....
