Back in 1992-1998 I use to street race. I know, I know it was stupid. I was in my early 20's. Anyway ive received a few tickets back then. The 2 that hurt me the most was the one for racing up in the Mira Mesa area in SD and driving with a suspended license. Well I never took care of those 2 tickets. Never went to court, never contacted them to extend or anything. Around 2000 I was working at a race shop when my mom called freaking out. She told me the cops went to the house looking for me with a warrant of arrest for one of the tickets. About a few weeks later they came back again with the same thing but for a different ticket. I decided to move up to my dad's in Santa Maria to give myself time to fix my situation. My dad hooked me up with his lawyer to help me. Well to make a long story short. A year and $10,000 later, I finally got my license back with all the chargers dropped! Most important no time in jail! Lol man it was a headache!
Since then I have tried m best to keep a clean driving record.

Never been issued a ticket.. been pulled over in the Z once though. The Hi-po just wanted to see it up close and gave me a warning.

**No speeding tickets in 24 years of driving**

WOOHOO!

R0bDC 01-31-2013 03:44 PM

I love threads that rise from the death!

But seriously I never gotten a ticket either, I'm young though I've got plenty of time for one ;)

ivtec07 01-31-2013 03:54 PM

I got a ticket for reckless driving in VA. No speed was quoted but I later found out that I was cited for changing two lanes without signaling and travelling at a "high rate of speed".

No fine was listed on the ticket and I was just told to appear in court on the court date. Apparently reckless driving can land you up to a $2500 fine and a year in jail in VA (which had me sh!tting bricks for a while). Ended up not retaining a lawyer and went to court with the hope that my otherwise clean driving record would get me some leniency.

Walked away with a $250 fine + court costs and 30 day suspension.

Haha scary! 1 year in jail = leaving the country for me. **** THAT!

DR_ 01-31-2013 04:08 PM

98 in a 55. I was passing 2 semi's at the same time in my 280z and just when I pulled back into my lane, bam my radar detector blows up. The cop was real cool about it though and said to call the judge to get a deal. When I called the judge he said if I sent him $250 it would not go on my record. Sounded fishy but it worked :)

edub370 01-31-2013 04:20 PM

103 in a 65. cbr600rr

cant remember costs, but 3 points

pL4tiNumfi5t 01-31-2013 04:29 PM

73 in a 50, literally minutes after I removed temporary tags and put on my new plate. Sheriff marked me down at 60. Paid the ticket since I had taken a driving course too recently for a red-light camera catching me on a late left turn, part of my truck not past invisible line.

LOL! she was pissed so just slapped a wad of cash and they were amazed people have money outside their shitty redneck town. :D

old post but fwiw

i got a speeding ticket for ~80mph in a 55 years back (can't remember my exact speed). it was 1am and happened to be in a construction zone with the big orange barrels on the side of the road, etc. cop gave me a ticket for $280 (double the normal $140 fine since construction zone). i just paid it since i was away from home and didnt want to drive to the court far away. couple of months pass and i get a check in the mail from the state for $140 with a note from a judge stating that since no one was working at 1am, it can't be considered a construction zone.

Tickwomp 01-31-2013 05:40 PM

127 mph in a 70 back in 1991. Fine was set at 375 Pounds and didn't pay it:-)

Headed north on the M44 just South of Oxford pretty much minding my own business cruising along on a '90 Kawasaki ZX11. Pulled over once I noticed I had coppers behind me. They said they had been chasing my for 7 or 8 miles. I explained I wasn't running, and didn't know they were chasing me.

Two policeman in the car, once was saying let him go and the other was saying to take me in. I was saying let him go!

In the end, they let me go with a ticket. BTW, 375 pounds was a chunk of money back in '91. I believe the only reason that I didn't get arrested is because I was active duty AF at the time as was headed to my new TDY base. Had ID, Orders, etc on me. When I settled in on base, the guidance I got from the Staff Judge Advocate was to do nothing. Don't pay or anything. Since I was stationed in Germany (Lindsay Air Station Wire Dawg) in Weisbaden, they said they'd never catch up to me. In the end, no fine, no point, no nothing. Have to say though that over the next few years everytime I went through customers or passport control I halfway expected to get collard.

The biggest ticket I got was in Turkey, going from Adana to Istanbul. Was stationed at Incirlik. I got caught going through some little crappy villiage and got popped in their local speed trap. Fine was like 2.5 Million Turkish Lira on the spot (which worked out to less than $20 US). I felt like giving them $50 dollars to radio ahead to clear the road.

I spend 20 years, 5 months, and 5 days in the USAF of which over 14 years was spent overseas. Pretty sure I got ticketed in every country I went through over the years. Even got a gun pulled on my in Germany because the cop said later he didn't want me to run. He said later he woulnd't have actually shot at me, but I didn't know that at the time.

Tick

Snakes709 01-31-2013 06:50 PM

Worst ticket was when i had my Z. I normally dont street race but a GTR was trying to get me to run. I said **** it and did a pull on the hwy. Of course he pulls bus lengths on me. He let off the gas as i was still trying to catch up. We were side by side doing 189kmh in a 110 zone. We hit a crest of a hill and he slams his brakes on. I knew why right away. Of course the cop comes after me, GTR takes off. Cop comes up to me and asks...

Cop: Whats the rush?
Me: No rush, just being stupid.
Cop Gimme one good reason why I shouldnt take your licence, impound your car and give you a fine.
Me: There is no good reason, what I did was stupid and dangerous.
Cop: Licence, registration and insurence please.

So i give him the info, he goes to his computer and comes back.

Cop: Ok so ill be nice and give you a ticket for $355 and 4 points off your licence
Me: Thanks, but since im military and my troop warrent will flip if he hears about this, can you just give me a warning?
Cop: (as he gives me a ****** up face) Are you ******* kidding me?
Me: Nevermind, ill take the ticket....
Cop: Is that a nitrous switch?
Me: Yes, i have nitrous installed but no bottle with me today:
Cop: pop your trunk.

So i pop the trunk, he sees no bottle and as he is about to leave he says

Cop: I'll put on the report you were very polite and told the truth, if you talk to the prosecutor, they will most likely cut the ticket in half.
Me: Thanks.

So we both leave, 2kms down the road i see the guy in the GTR on the side of the road with 2 under cover cars. I went to the court date and they cut it down to $177 and 2 points.

That was my biggest and luckiest ticket ever. Never street raced since..lol.

Wonka2581 01-31-2013 07:05 PM

147 in a 40 zone on a 2003 yamaha R6 when I was 17. Ticket was around $500 don't remember points tho he almost took me to jail!

Fearless_Z 01-31-2013 07:08 PM

Worst ticket i got was in my 2005 350z. 109 in a 50. I was street racing a wanna be cobra (2008 Gt). Yea, they took me to jail. I was in nursing school at the time. I failed out because i missed so much going to court and trying to get it lowered from a reckless op to drag racing. Plus, the LSBN (Louisiana State Board of Nursing) didnt want a "criminal" becoming a nurse, lol. But...everything happens for a reason. Annnnnddddd...im driving a 370z now. :stirthepot:

TheGreatOne 01-31-2013 08:12 PM

Worst: $488 ticket and car impounded for 30 days at $8/day for driving a car with my car not registered and license not renewed.

It basically was a super nice early spring day weeks before I was scheduled to register my car and take it out of storage status. Of course a super clean Prelude (car at the time) stuck out like a sore thumb

Most annoying Happened this summer with the Z, $156 ticket, twice, 30 days apart for my Exhaust. Same cop too, so I think he was just singling me out...I contested the 2nd one in November...waiting for a court date...I got a nice defence lined up...I'm going Perry Mason on these fools!

Coon-azz 01-31-2013 08:19 PM

Worst Ticket? 1989 just before I left for the Gulf War. Got caught going through the Virginia Beach toll Booth at 142 MPH on my VMAX. What I didn' tell the officer was that I slowed down as I went threw the toll....lots of oil in there. I lost my license for two years and paid over $400 in fines, had to sell the bike. I came back from the first Gulf War and received my license in the mail from the court. Letter went, "thank you for serving your country...you license has been reinstated on a 6 month basis...." Keep in mind, that in those days, the toll booth didn't have the arms on it that it does now; or did. And. it was only ten cents then. LOL. I was just racing a few other bikes on our way down to the storage unit were we were all going to store our rides. I look back and probably the only reason I didn't go to jail was because we were leaving for the War in the morning. My CO had to come get me though-and that didn't go well.
Marines, we are a crazy bunch. Actually have the ticket framed in my office at the house. :)

SPOHN 01-31-2013 08:32 PM

Several years ago in my G37 86 in a 55 ( I was going 95 but slowed it some). DA dropped it to 64 in a 55. No points but the price was the same $410. Now in GA they have a super speeder for 15 over and the ticket doubles the cost.

dal1307 01-31-2013 09:27 PM

77 in a 45. Due to my prior clean record, city attorney gave me a deal for "driving too fast for conditions". $180 total including court costs and out the door in 5 minutes. I would say that I was lucky on this one.

Shamu 01-31-2013 09:30 PM

I was doing 142 in 75 zone in Nevada desert back in late 90s in my Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo. Cop cut me major break and wrote ticket for 85 mph.

I was doing 94 in 55 on highway 1 in Nor Cal in my Porsche Boxster about 7 years ago and CHP let me off with warning. :tiphat:

Then last week was in my SUV doing 70 in 55 and got a ticket. First one in 8 years.

BeemaaZ 01-31-2013 09:32 PM

A $20 fix ticket that turned into a Failure to Appear which end up costing me $300 and a day in court. :(

Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Board Express

nmjaxx9 01-31-2013 10:12 PM

reckless, lead to a court summons, then a license suspension and a ticket. :roflpuke2:

Sorrovv 01-31-2013 11:03 PM

10 Mazda3 Hatch doing 52 mph in a 25 - school zone. It's normally 45 when the school zone time isn't active. No kids were around yet and the light wasn't working, so I had no warning. I saw the cop - didn't even slow down.

Got it reduced to $150 because of the light malfunction after putting it off for a year. Switched insurance companies.

:happydance:

b1adesofcha0s 01-31-2013 11:54 PM

My worst ticket was a $75 parking at school because I forgot to hang up my permit. Had it reduced to $15 though.

MMIX 02-01-2013 12:07 AM

WORST TICKET EVER... MY FIRST TICKET EVER.. TODAY 64 ON A 45
trial march.. cost pending.. the look on my face when he said your getting a ticket today.. priceless

2xtreme1 02-01-2013 12:38 AM

Most bs ticket ever . "Failure to stop at a stop sign " but when he first came up to me he thought I was on my phone -_-.
He didn't even tell me what I was getting a ticket for .
It was in my Honda though .
300$ + 30$? For traffic school ?
It was bs I stopped he wasnt even looking and went after me
Daily he had someone stopped at that spot for a while I think someone reported him because he is no longer there anymore . Or budget cuts haha

forza370z 02-01-2013 07:13 AM

The worst ticket I've ever got? - I got this parking ticket at a 15min street parking spot. I thought I parked there just about a couple minutes over 15min was I really that unlucky? Good I read the ticket carefully and found out it's for the same make/model/color car BUT different license plate number AND on a different street!:icon17: Someone tried to trick me. If I just carelessly paid for that ticket, that a-hole would be laughing his a** off at me.

Result? - I threw it away.:)

Chuck33079 02-01-2013 08:00 AM

Haven't been pulled over in the Z yet (knocks on wood), but I spent plenty of time on the side of the road talking to cops when I was younger and dumber. Most of my tickets were garden variety speeding tickets that were completely legitimate and completely my fault, usually with a no front plate ticket tacked on if the cop was having a bad day.

What would have been my biggest ticket (and likely a trip to jail) turned out to be a warning. I was absolutely hauling *** in my STi around a freeway interchange. It was banked just perfectly. I always used that particular interchange to test out any suspension work. This time I got a good running start on it, and just ripped through there. I probably hit somewhere in the neighborhood of 130+. I backed off of it merging onto the freeway, and saw a motorcycle with flashing lights behind me as I realized I was going to jail shortly. I had lifted, and looked down at the speedo to see how bad the ticket would be. The needle had just drifted back down to about 110-115. At this point, I began mentally preparing myself to go to jail for the evening.

I pulled over onto the shoulder and braced myself. The motorcycle cop got off his bike, stormed up to my window and began screaming at me. He ordered me out of the car, walked me around to the trunk and patted me down. Once he saw that I was sober and unarmed, he proceeded to give me the *** chewing of my life. The guy must have been a drill sargeant at some point in his life, because he was giving me flashbacks to R. Lee Ermey in Full Metal Jacket. He yelled at me for being stupid for a solid fifteen minutes. It was almost an out of body experience. He swore at me nonstop the whole time and pretty much never repeated himself. He had an endless supply of ways to call me a stupid ************. I wish I had a recording just to hear it again.

After he finished tearing a new hole in my ***, I figured it was about time for him to take me to jail. I almost fainted when he told me that he was on his way home, he was late already, his wife was pissed and there was no way he was going to stick around for thirty minutes to wait for a squad car and tow truck. He looked at my license again and told me he lived not four blocks from my house. He informed me he wasn't going to forget about my stupidity, and if he and I ever had a reason to meet again I was going to jail no questions asked. Then he ordered me back into the car, and to GTFO of his sight.

I saw that cop probably every week or two in passing in my neighborhood, and he never failed to wave at me. It wasn't the "hi, how are you" kind of wave. It was the "hey, dumbass, remember me? I remember you" kind of wave.

Hookah 02-01-2013 08:10 AM

My first ticket ever.... I had a clean record before this.

60 on a 45 and he gave me a failure to obey highway ticket. I payed it off, which was like $94, it was a 3 pointer but should I have gone to court? Should I take a class to bump up my points? I am 19 and I will be 20 in a month and have been driving since 16.

PS: He pulled me over as I turned into my neighborhood too...

FPenvy 02-01-2013 08:37 AM

just found this thread.

my worst i think was when i was 17 in a 2002 monte carlo.

88mph in a 40mph construction zone (big no no in PA)

took it to court. made a phone call. got it thrown out :stirthepot:

AlexRaymond19 02-01-2013 10:26 AM

Got a ticket driving through mass early in the morning (2-3AM) I was the only car on the road and when i rounded the corner saw the cop. I pulled over before he even put his lights on, and he pulls up a little confused, asked if i was alright and i said yeah. Asked only to see my license, and came back like a minute later with a hand written ticket. Didn't even ask to see my insurance or registration. He spelled my name wrong on the ticket and had my license number wrong as well. Got a letter in the mail saying they revoked my license. Called them back to let them know that they probably got the wrong person suspended because that was not my license number, and they asked me what my real number was, i laughed and said yeah right... and hung up... never heard another word about it, its been over a year now

I was doing about 85-90 but the ticket said 80, and it was a 65 zone
