45 minutes, and I get to surf in the customer lounge - oil/filter change w/Ester and a badly needed car wash. The underbody neatly buttoned back up, oil level RIGHT at the "H" mark, AND they even reset the maintenance warning (checked when I got home).

I love being a grease monkey (the Honda's the hobby car), but call me lazy: I think I'm doing this dealer oil change for quite some time.

When I used to take my Mazdaspeed3 to the dealer for service, the guy at the front desk always said "we skipped washing it because we would have made your car dirtier than you brought it in".
Classic!

ive worked with my PDR trainer years ago at an audi dealership where the porter ran a brand new A4 through the nylon brush wash and broke off the antenna on the roof + bending the surrounding metal.

we were asked by the dealer to PDR the roof asap before the customer found out wat happened. i was like and the dealer asked 'ken, you can't fix it? ' and i was like 'i can fix the roof, but you guys still have an nylon brush autowash??!! WTF! "

Mine was pretty clean, no damage or swirl marks when I got it back.

I think next oil change I'll wash the car first and ask for no car wash there; probably ask to check the machine out too.

Other than Fontana don't bother taking it to a dealership.

They will just steal your oil and put the cheap crap instead LOL

I don't know about taking your oil. But I know for a fact that some shady dealerships will use lower grade oil even when you pay for synthetic. Just do it yourself that way you know it's done right.

You must be pretty lazy or handicapped if you do not change your own oil.

i would rather do the work than letting the dealer mash up the rails on the lift, "detail" the car afterwards by mistake even though i tell then NO WASH, later finding im missing a couple of screws from the bottom cover, and also finding they overfilled the oil.

Sandro, I took my own oil to a shop in Redondo Beach and they charged me $20 or so.

If you don't want to drive too far I can give you their info and they are super reputable
