Yes, as long as the oil meets or exceeds Nissans requirements? Fontana's one of the if not best dealers in SoCal for Service.

Why not change it yourself and save $$$? Or at least take it to a cheaper independent mechanic

seungklee 12-11-2010 01:33 AM

change it yourself, so damn easy, I did it.

My dealer uses my oil filter and oil I bring. I know i should do it my self but my dealership is really nice to me and they have not messed up any thing yet!

Well, I don't know your situation, but I got creative. Drove up on a little knoll in the yard, etc. That sort of thing. 2 Trans Ams, a mustang 5.0, and other cars, and I never messed with a jack. I don't trust them after watching one let go and come down on my grandpa when I was a kid. yeah, his fault for not using safety jacks, but images like that just stick with you. Fortunately, only a few cracked ribs.

Ramps are safe if used correctly with wheel chocks.

wow. i am impressed.
there's a co-worker who's into cars and had done an oil change on his 350z. later he told me would not do it himself again because it was too tough. he said the car was too low for him to work on.

VCuomo 12-11-2010 03:57 PM

OP - why not use your cellphone and call Fontana Nissan's Service Department and just ask them?

He's not into cars enough. Get the right tools.

This is super easy. I understand if you are really busy and not into cars, but there should be no fear to change oil! :ugh2:
