Odd Question perhaps?

I believe it's for manufacturing purposes. Such things make it much easier for the assembly folks. They don't have to wonder whether its the correct side they have or not.

They don't have to wonder whether its the correct side they have or not. So I would assume it's to reduce human error at the assembly plant.
