See my post on page two of this thread. Heck, see all of my posts on this thread. Heck, see all of the posts in this thread, almost everything you are currently discussing has been covered in considerable detail in the early portions of this very thread.

The noise doesn't bother me. It's a sports car.

Noise

You know, it never really occurred to me until I read about it. I have 18s so its fine. I mostly just cruise around so there is no noise. Yeh, over those concrete scored highways you hear some noise but never gave it a thought. Its a sports car. But I did insulate and will do the underside of the coroplast piece just underneath the carpet section and add more to the spare tire area to use up what i already bought. I also think a small thin:driving::driving: bed comfortor wrapped around the hatch area adds more. Those comfortors are insulated with a layer between the top and bottom. Or I may take the comfortor out and use a new piece of carpet insulation over the dynomat like product I used. thats it for me. I cant wait to drive it again. Maybe Thursday but Friday for sure since I scheduled an oil change. Im doin this because Ill be getting larger tires, possibly the 255/305 setup so This effort will not hurt.:driving:

Update

Cannot do the insulating on the underside of the coroplast. Its against nissans foam padding--no more room.so i just added the rest to the inner sidewalls around the spare and layered more on the bottom. We will see soon the results.

I turn up my music and if I'm not listening to music I roll down the windows to hear the VQ song. No rock noises for me.

Well i can now give a final report on the results of my efforts to tame this beast.

I have done the hatch and doors and the final thing was new Conti tires.. I am happy to report the car if perfect..for me. Its so quiet that I can actually see that any more sound dampening would spoil the sport car experience, as some have said.
Actually, i can also understand why some might think I had already gone too far...

...but I do like to take long distance drives with my wife and I just cannot bear the thought of the road noise drowning out her "helpful advice" as to traffic signs, my speed, braking, lane changing, other drivers and such..

Well i now feel I can really enjoy this car to its fullest...sometimes when driving on the back-roads, sometimes driving on the highway and always when ALONE..

This site saved me from what I thought was a huge mistake at first by buying a car that was just far too annoying on the open road...so one annoyance down...one more to go...if you catch my meaning..

Noise

Glad your happy. Im a perfectionist and i need to be satisfied in what I do also.
