^ Well, it does have something to do with the discussion, seeing how the two cars are being compared. I'll grant you that every instance is just that, an individual instance, and many factors are always at play, but I do not see how that is different from the factors that are at play when R&T does their tests. Simply offering another data point/result into the mix of the conversation.

If you are ever in Cincinnati take a trip to Paul's Automotive. He has some incredibly nice Mustangs built for drag, road course and show. I might add that I have seen some amazing numbers on the dyno at Paul's shop.

So, rednek01 makes a worthwhile point. You can do a lot of things to the Mustang. And if you need the extra space it is a bargain for the money.

At this point I should point out that I do not own a Mustang. However, I did consider one. The styling and remake of the new Z was too hard to ignore.

One final note, a guy passes through my neighborhood occasionally driving a full Roush package Mustang. I ALWAYS stop and listen to it going by. It puts a huge smile on my face.

As an enthusiast I like both. I have owned a 1967 Mustang fastback and loved it. This current version of the Mustang is really quite good.

I own a Mustang GT now, so I know of what the reviewer speaks of... the lack of low-end torque, the vagueness of the steering, the Peter the Rabbit hopping the back end does on uneven pavement...

All of this gives me confidence that I will be well-pleased with the 370z when I do get it. I want that sure handling, the steady torque, the wrap-around feel. I will happily sacrifice my extra two seats (hardly ever used) and trunk (okay, I use that, but I think I could do without) for a return to an uncompromising sports car.

It'll be like 1991 all over again for me (except with a better Z!)!

Of course the Z will win over Stang....

My question is, how will our Z will compete against new V-8 Camaro.

I think it will be about the same dealio, except the Camaro will probably be a bit faster in a straight line. Handling and interior quality/design should still be the province of the Z.

Mustang's new interior is nice; Challenger and the new Camaro, so-so.

I dont think its going to be same dealio as comparing to Rustang....

The new Camaro V-8 is going to be low 4 sec 0-60 car. I think it will easily walk on our Z in straight line.

And with very good looking exterior/interior while having same price range as ours, its going to be very tight competition....

By the way, did you guys know that the new Camaro will have Angel light available for sports package? it looks so sick....

Really? Low 4 seconds 0-60 for the new Camaro? How do you figure that?

0-60 mph Calculator - 060calculator.com
Plugging in the 370Z's numbers give between 4.7 and 4.8
Plugging in the camaro's gives around 4.3

This calculator seems to come in about .1 to.2 faster than real life so 4.5 sec for the camaro should be about right.

People will still pit these cars against each other no matter what especially if they're in the same price range.

Oh I've no doubt they will...any magazine article comparing a Mustang or a Camaro to anything (especially a Japanese car) is a guaranteed bump in sales...it's like a radio talk show host talking about abortion or gun control...calls into the show are absolutely guaranteed!

^^^ Hence, the reason why rednek01 said the following...

I am slightly biased towards the stang because I have been raised with stangs and had one of my own. I dated a girl that drove a 350z for about a year and fell in love with it as well so maybe I am not so biased...lets see!

I will start with the Z, the Z is truly an all out sports car 2 seats, small and light, and great track manners. If I was getting a SPORTS car I would definitely get a Z hands down because it is designed for that one purpose of being a sports car and hasn't been diluted to meet more markets other than the sports car market.

The mustang, one thing that people don't get about the mustang is that it isn't really a sports car, it isn't really a muscle car, it isnt really a cruising car. It is all of these combined which means it comes short in all areas but is able to reach a broad appeal in several markets. While I dream of the days where mustangs where more honed for muscle/sports car duties I have to realize this would be the fall of the mustang case in point the camaro. This is the reason for the mustangs success and why they will continue to produce it as such because it appeals to so many people whether you want a fun top down cruiser or an all out track car you can have it! Granted stock it isnt the best but take a gander at the aftermarket world and you will soon see how versatile these can be.

I guess the point I am trying to make is the mustang is not a really sports car it is a base platform that you can turn into anything where as the Z is a sports car so yea I would be pretty disappointed if the z lost to the mustang in the twisties.

sorry for any run on sentences or grammar mistakes I am writing this as quick as possible before work!
Z is built and design to be true sports car... so performance and agility should be a major part of it. I would be disappointed too if the Z did not surpassed or just merely matched the Mustang in that department.
