so after getting it inspected it was a bearing and bearing strut on the opposite side of where the damage was... .weird... they said it was a faulty part... weird...

Been there and done that with a huge pot-hole... the thumping and vibration that was coming from my wheel at the time was from the bearing...had the bearing changed and the problem was fixed. (not to mention the dent in my rim
 )
