Default Thumping Noise While Driving

About 2 weeks ago, the passenger side of my 370z struck a curb and the only visible damage was the rims. I had them repaired, but while driving, when i get to about 50-60 mph, i hear a rhythmic thumping noise. It does not happen below or above that speed. Any idea what this could be?? thanks

Tire damage would be top of the list. You should have your alignment and suspension checked as well. If that all checks out, figure it's the just the sound of the Nissan Ester Oil doing its thing.

Did they rebalance the wheel when you had it repaired?

as noted above i'd get the tires checked again and have them re-balanced.

could be a bad strut too... check for leaks.

could it be damaged bearings in the upright. but that kind of sound would get louder and faster when car speeds up.
In any case a struck to the front wheel which results in rim damage should really go to the dealer and have them check it out.

You really don't want to have the same thing happened to me. The rack of the steering mechanism broke in half while I was at speed (circuit racing), and I head to the tire wall and the car flipped 1.5 times. (not a Z) The rack had tiny fracture in it from previous small impact to the tire.

Been there and done that with a huge pot-hole... the thumping and vibration that was coming from my wheel at the time was from the bearing...had the bearing changed and the problem was fixed. (not to mention the dent in my rim )

hey cars are like women, one day they start the other day the choose not to. On practice sessions the race car goes on well, but on qualification session the car doesn't revv-up. Strange things happen, and very fast.

Whatever it was, am glad that the technician found the problem and fixed it for you so your ride is comfy now
