My car definitely needs an oil cooler. It was hitting 255 yesterday and the speeds never exceeded 75. I could have easily pushed it past 260. Last night it was 63 degrees and I never got over 60, by the time I had done 18 miles I was hitting 245. I was stuck behind a pickup truck the whole way so there was no chance for any WOT.
I would judge your need for an oil cooler by finding a nice twisty back road and exercise the car in 2 ~ 4 and see where your temps go. If you easily hit 240 inside of 5 min or less get the oil cooler.
