Same around here, but Mustangs, Challengers and Camaros are all over the place. I might see two or three 350Z, but no 370Zs.

I dont know what city you are in Florida as well, but heres how bad it is. Two of the docs my gf works with,*both around 30 as well* go and buy brand new cars one week apart from eachother. Ones buy an SS Camaro, the other the SRT8 Challenger! Of course I had to go for a ride in the Challenger and I was shocked at the raw power but it was just freaking huge and not really me, thats not my type of sports car. But anything in the South is gonna be full of muscle cars vs real import cars less your in the big cities like Jville, Orlando, Tampa, Miami. The smaller FLorida towns is gonna have muscle car fever!

I'd probably say the price is a huge reason.
How many of the mustangs or camaros that you see actually break the 25k price? Most of them are probably base models. Most of the mustangs that I personally see are base. THey are both affordable cars for under 25k. How many 30k+ sports cars do I see on a daily basis? Much less. 4-seaters are much more conventional as well. They are obvious choices when looking at space for sports cars. |

And alot of them are on post, soldiers are getting paid well today. But El Paso also has 13 GTRs running around too so there are some well to do people here by the border. I wonder why?

I live in a well to do area of the SF bay area with a population of 25 K. Here BMW's are as common as a Ford Focus. Ferrarri has a dealership in town, as does Porsche so seeing them is a daily sight. I do see a 370 here and there most every day, even a GTR, but still relatively few.
It is the Mustang that is everywhere usually holding up traffic on the windy roads. Charger/Challengers and Cameros are all over the place too. I attribute this additional abundance of these cars to rentals. I made up this answer but they drive and dress as tourists.

I'm not saying these cars can't get expensive...they are just available for cheap mainstream access as well. My cousin has a fully loaded camero so I know they can be expensive as well but the base model is available for mainstream access for a lot of these american muscle cars. Around here, mustangs are just too common. I see one every road I am on...and each time the driver is a retired husband and wife. Now around my university, I see beast vehicles left and right...but that just comes with the territory. I see 30k+ cars all the time as well but most of those are mercedes, lexus, and bmw (essentially family sedans). Just the other day I saw a lambo. Third time in my lifetime seeing one. |
