yes they do , I know for sure cuz when the shop was installing my HFCs they disconnected the sensor and didnt mark it. So when they put it back on it was out of alignment. I got cel lights and after driving for awhile, the metal ring in the steering colum that connects the pieces together electrically broke and I then got a air bag cel. The shop knew the service manager at Nissan here and made a deal to have it all fixed under warranty, but let me tell you they had to replace a few things to get it all fixed.

Morale of the story is...... mark the sensors when disconnecting it.

^^ you might be talking about the steering controls? I spent an hour looking for the steering angle sensor on all the schematics with no avail.

Not sure I just know the Nissan service manager said they didnt put the sensor back on right and that caused the steering wire to break too. So it must be down in the front close to where you have to go to to get to the demon bolts.
