Use car wash soap and water. Make sure it's foamy and clean off the crap. Dry and just let sit. Don't use any sprays or wax. If you do it

Use car wash soap and water. Make sure it's foamy and clean off the crap. Dry and just let sit. Don't use any sprays or wax. If you do it right the paint is so soft it will fix itself. If not, time to invest in a Polish.

Same happened to me. Cleaned with water and soap, used wax on area, saw the etching...next day it was gone. appears if caught early enough paint apparently heals itself. I was surprised when the etching disappeared.

You want to clay bar the area and keep the car away from sun (heat) for at least the next few washes. Polish is ok but you don't want to apply wax if the 'etching' is still visible. Good luck, let us know how it goes!
