Was i ripped off or what?

Dealer did the right thing. You should have told the insurance company that you didn't want them to replace the cover, just provide you with reimbursement for what it cost

Dealer did the right thing. You should have told the insurance company that you didn't want them to replace the cover, just provide you with reimbursement for what it cost you (assuming you had the receipt - if you didn't, you'd be out of luck).

Just sell the cover on eBay...
