Why the switch?

I've never driven an NSX, so I don't know how it rides. But if your NSX had stock rims (17" IIRC), the Z's 19" rims with low profile tires might be part of the reason.

I've only test driven the Z (w/ sport), but I was impressed with the ride quality. My cars have ranged from luxury ride (Benz), to sport luxury (BMW), to sport (M3 & FD RX-7). My old FD was an R1 model, designed to compete with the original NSX, but it had the harshest ride of any car I've owned.

NSX is a nice ride! I just test drove a Z (7AT) today - Touring model. More impressed with the AT than I thought I would and the ride was smoooooth to me!

well, since it's a performance car with low profile tries
(low profile tires have less side wall area, so it doesn't flex to absorb bumps)

you'll feel every single bump & crack on the roads to ur bum

This is not ment to be snarky but doesnt any car have a rough ride on rough pavement? I understand that a VIP sedan with a bags or a lifted truck is going to be smoother than an NSX but still, rough pavement is rough pavement.

Make sure the tire pressure isn't low.
I say take it to the dealer and make sure you haven't somehow blown a shock if it truly feels different from first purchasing it, but either way the Z is going to let you feel the road.

Whoa, I feel like I just traveled through a wormhole in the time-space continuum with the thread-merge!

Okay, to keep this post OT -- mono01, I've actually been thinking about your question, and I have to confess that I'm having trouble coming up with an answer, because what constitutes 'rough' pavement is kinda subjective. Do you mean something like a road with a few cracks and expansion joints? Or do you mean something with massive potholes? And here's the thing. One's perception of ride quality in general is subjective. What feels comfortable to me might feel awful to someone else. So when you ask 'hey guys, how does your Z ride' -- well, will our answers really have any meaning to you? Too bad there isn't a way to objectively measure ride quality. Like with roadholding, you can objectively measure the g's that a car can pull on a skidpad. I'm not aware of any parallel for ride quality.

AK merged two threads together. See post #21 above? That used to be post #1, then I pointed out that mono01 had already started an older thread on the same topic (which is this current thread), and AK nuked the new thread and transferred all the posts to this older thread. Which is how post #1 became post #21.
