im sure the koni's can provide better overall damping for your lowering springs better than the stock dampers. you can at least fine tune the rebound to your liking which is important.

im going to wait another year before doing anything to my Z. for the time being i want to just enjoy the car without dealing with new things on it.

I feel you on trying to wait before more mods, I always say that then I just get this itch and next thing I know I'm in the middle of replacing another part and driving back and forth to Home Depot buying tools and pieces I need.
