yah, the salt dust does cake onto the side and especially the rear bumper from the exhaust steam even if the road is dry.  so i use no-rinse car wash in my garage if i can get the garage ambient temp warm enough to where the thing doesn't freeze.... usually 0C is no problem.but hibernating the car is sooo much easier.
