Yeah I think you are a better photographer than me now for sure.

lol, you have to be doing something to get your lawn so green and even (color and height). it's like a pretty girl saying she eats a lot of everything and doesn't really exercise. no way~! :D

naw, im just spending more time on the camera that's all. im a pretty picky guy by personality so i just keep trying and trying and trying until my nose bleeds. (no my nose does not bleed. :icon17: ) it's just the nature in me to keep trying until im happy with what i do.

Whew, I thought you were going to get a bit self-indulgent there for a minute. Once you have a tripod, you can also start playing around with time exposures -- fun stuff.

I actually have one of those flexible Gorilla Pods that I use for selfies and timer shots with point-and-shoot when I'm traveling. I'm often traveling by myself and I have to shoot my own "I was here" shots. I can frame up a selfie with the timer and get a way better shot than what I get when a passerby with good intentions offers to help.

the main reason why i want the short tripod is so that i can do exactly that. i want an ant's view shot of my car. :p i'd have to roll on the ground to see that and 92% of the time you wont find me rolling around on my back in parking lots. :icon17:

Ha!
I actually got some of my favourite low-angle shots of my cars while rolling around on the ground.

LunaZ -- excellent grass-cutting and photography technique.

Luna, the self portrait came out pretty good but the first pic of the Mazda is great!!! Great background and composition, though I would love to see it wider. Did you crop?

Thanks!
That location is under a bridge and it's a popular location for shooting cars, models and suburban kids with no street smarts trying to score drugs. It goes without saying that it can be a little dodgy shooting there! During weekday hours, it's a parking area for State Employees and at night it's just not a safe place to hang out. On top of that, the passageways between the bridge arches are open to traffic at all hours, so you need a spotter even at 7am on a Sunday morning!

The finished shot was worked on quite a bit.
The attachment is an untouched test shot that shows where the light was coming from as well as all the signage that was removed from the pic. Much to my disappointment, The State had just recently painted over the graffiti, destroying the gritty urban background I was hoping for.

I got my Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires yesterday. Thank you Onzedge for your recommendation. I had 7250 on my original Bridestones. This is the most expensive set of rubber I've ever owned at $1680 with an alignment. Thats $0.23 per mile. The day I bought the car I remember asking myself "I wonder how much 19" tires will cost?", knowing that increasing from 16" to 17" added a bit.

Oh well you pay to play and I am playing.
