No need to rail on a fellow Virginia boy.

I think most of us already knew that we could shift without the clutch, but for any of the newbs out there this is a good thing to know should they ever destroy a clutch in the middle of nowhere, so this is useful information.

Yeah clutchless shifting is useful should you lose a clutch in the middle of no where but thats not double clutching.

Yeah but the op said its for people that know. Newbs go research... then he is confusing double clutching with clutchless shift. It makes him look stupid lmao!

Anywayyyy... if he posted some kind of link for the newbs to get the info and not try to sound like hey I'm Mr. Know sh1t... he wouldn't be gettin ragged on. I normally hate to see people gettin ragged but this one is well deserved. Lol.

The op was wanted to explain clutchless downshifting using the syncro-rev and not double clutching, so it makes sense that he didnt explain the later. I dont see anywhere that he is confusing double clutching with clutchless shifting so this makes you look stupid lmao!

Anywayyyyyyyyy... he dosent have to put a link if he dosent want to, its his thread, and if you hate people getting ragged on why are you doing it? Lol.

Read this again. He's confusing the two.

How can you double clutch with a blown clutch???

True you cant, i was just referring to the first post, however OP is wrong there. Maybe he is confused because double clutching does lessen the wear on a clutch. (Correct me if im wrong). However double clutching is useless these days...

Well I guess the OP is too embarrassed to respond or is googling what the difference between double clutching and clutchless shifting is so he won't be able to respond.

Time to lock this one down.

IBTL

(i couldn't pick just one soo here are two)

Let's break down the OP's post because I think a lot of people are misunderstanding him:

Quote:

OP was practicing the "double-clutch" method of shifting. Because this post is NOT explaining that practice, he advises a google search to all who don't know what this technique is.

After double-clutching, the OP decided to try to shift without the clutch.

5. Viola! The syncro-rev blips the throttle and the lever falls into 4th without needing to clutch in!
OP provides instructions on how to shift without the clutch. OP DOES NOT say the above instructions are instructions on how to double-clutch.

So, if you read his post again, it's pretty clear that he knows the difference between a double-clutch shift and a clutchless shift.
